Yea we know, we actually own land where we kind of share free range chickens that belongs to our neighbors. Have not paid for eggs in quite a while. Our cats and dogs protects the land. More the cats at the moment as we just got a pup, but our other neighbor (which is the wife side of the family) also own dogs and helps. We have a big wave of foxes and coyotes in the past couple of years thats had a big impact in the local area.

We have such a 'yote problem that people are having small dogs stolen when then they let them out for a piss after dark. Every night its all you can hear from every direction in the forests. Fortunately we have a fully fenced yard and they dont get in. Mules protect birds at the farm from 'yote and wolves/coywolves.

here too. i go out with the pup armed. sometimes the hunting/ competition built AR15 or the older style XDM40S&W.

Id be more concerned about black bears during the day with the dogs. Ive had my pups go at a bear before, while i was unarmed...not fun. Fortunately the dogs ran it up a tree, and came back to myself and my wife!
