Are we counting all the money it costs to House cannabis offenders in jails and prisons? Because based of that fact alone it costs roughly a 100mil if not 10x’s more each growing year.
Legalizing cannabis in all states would earn $10+ billion in tax revenue.
Legalizing cannabis would save state and federal governments more than a decent chunk of change. It would also generate billions in additional tax revenue.
It’s estimated that states spent roughly $3.6 billion on cannabis law enforcement in 2010.
Then we’re talking billions nearing the trillion mark I’d like to imagine it’s costing the u.s. government 50billion to 1 trillion dollars in housing inmates, laws and lost revenue it could be making all together

I read in the newspaper that our country is estimating that weed will nearly double alcohol sales in our country...so we are talking almost 20 billion dollars!! No wonder they wanted to make it legal!! Really....I am pretty sure its not because they want us to have a good carefree life. LOL All of this for a low, low cost of $10+ a gram....LOL (snickers at the rediculousness of it all!)

Cannabis prohibition costs the US state and federal governments $17.5 billion each year.
If the government were to legalize all drugs, we’d save $41.3 billion annually. This is an interesting statistic when you keep countries like Portugal in mind. Portugal managed to cut its rates of drug abuse in half within 10 years of decriminalizing all drugs.
Oh they are planning on keeping cost "reasonable", and they figure that number "to compete with the black market" is $10 a gram....not sure who is giving them this information.....but damn....they are pretty fucking dense!! This is all quoted stuff from newspapers....hahahahaha
