My cabinets did not arrive today. again. making coffee in the bathroom is way past old now. I've been staying busy making shelves and staining molding and stuff. If the cabs don't get here soon I'm going to have so much woodwork and trim in this house the foundations are going to give.

I don't know is the simple answer. I will have to drill down into those numbers and compare panel systems vs. the roof tile system. They don't give full coverage with the Tesla roofs, because they need clearance from chimneys and stuff (or so they say) They also didn't include a wattage estimate, I will read a lot more before I spend that money.

The battery is $7k, and I could build a hell of an array of batteries for that. I think that is the weak link in the Tesla system.

Supposedly these are damn near bulletproof, I would conservatively give them 20 years. We've been through a lot of lead acids we eat em up in a few years. 1.2 volt cells are about 6x12"

the tesla lithium stores 14 kwh. LG, Mercedes, BMW, and a few others are making battery banks too. The range from 5 kwh to 25 kwh and $3k to $25k installed.

I have not been able to find actual wattage per sq ft on the tesla roof tiles yet, but found that it's %25 less than current panels. Once Tesla's new gigafactory is in full production the prices will drop. It's still smart to wait a year. I just patched a hole in my roof so I could wait it out.
