I just priced a roof for my house and a big wall battery from Tesla, overall cost is about 40k. but they would finance at 80 bucks a month on a 30 yr loan.

Going solar you won't look back.
What size system do you get for 40k.
30 yr finance sounds dodgy as. You would need to renegotiate every 8/10 years when battery replacement comes due.
Does any one in your area deal with lead acid batteries or glass matt hybrids. They can be a bit cheaper than the tesla lithiums.

I don't know is the simple answer. I will have to drill down into those numbers and compare panel systems vs. the roof tile system. They don't give full coverage with the Tesla roofs, because they need clearance from chimneys and stuff (or so they say) They also didn't include a wattage estimate, I will read a lot more before I spend that money.

The battery is $7k, and I could build a hell of an array of batteries for that. I think that is the weak link in the Tesla system.

7k for the battery doesn't sound too far off the mark for lithium. I wonder where the rest of the spend is?

Think butterflies would look better but they are some floral print fabric that wife sewed together.
