How deep did you plant them?

Hey guys a little update. Heads are out, moved them under my 400w MH (cooltube) around 60-65cm above soil. Is theight proper or i should bring it down/up abit.

subbed. good luck on your first real grow. sounds like your in same boat as me. i'm into my first grow about 3 1/2 weeks in now. like you i did a lot of reading first, books and internet forums before i got going. seems to make a big difference. so good luck and i'll be looking forward to seeing those seedlings

Guys, got a lill' question what height should my 400Watts MH in cooltube be above my containers at this stage? the guy at the shop said 60cm for starters, to me it sounds near, but from what I heard its even too far, even for this stage, so I am confused, any light shed on this matter will be appreciated.

Yes mate, I did as I was told and moved the soil to see if I planted to deep.. the answer to that is.. yes I planted WAY too deep but now 24hours later almost they show great progress.
2 snow ryders and both AK47's popped heads, just one snowryder hasn't come up yet, i dont think his shell even got cracked =\

Use the heat on the back of the hand method that I've explained to you twice in PMs. With a cool tube you should be able to get it pretty close, maybe 10 - 14".

start towards the end of the yellow around 16" and work it up to the back of the hand method as muddy said and never go less than 5" from bulb

Ofcourse I learnt from what you told me in PMs its just that I didn't know if you also meant for the seedling stage, that means that I should bring my light much closer than it is, I thought it should be on a specific distance at this stage to avoid burnin' but ok, I'll update in the mornin', ill bring the lights closer =], unless anyones enlighten that it should be at certain distance at their first days :S, i got confused [very high atm]..

Sorry, I may have misunderstood. I thought you still had them under the CFLs and were asking about later on.

Just make sure it's high enough that it doesn't harm the plants or dry the soil out too fast. You just don't want it so high that the seedling has to reach for the light and gets spindly. Probably about 15 or 16" should be good.
