Indoor Copacabana, Muay Thai, Love Potion LED tent grow

Thanks for the interest and comments, everyone.

Cool setup, as a fellow scrogger I'm interested to see how this turns out. Best of luck

dirty budster, nice grow you've got goin' on with some cool strains. Looks like a good finish ahead for you. Love to see a good scrog.

Here's some pics. Starting day 23.

I fed the MThai and Copa yesterday, and the LovePotion this morning. They seem to be taking to the nutes fine so far. I'll try and ramp up the dose next feeding.

I bent the main stem on the LovPot for a day so the under branches could develop a bit more. Good overall color:

Here's the MThai:

I tried to get a good pic of the FIM but I missed.
Too much flash. I'll pull her out of the tent next time.
Not sure I slowed her down at all, her branches are long and lanky with a lot of internodal space.

I'll go ahead and supercrop those branches tonight or tomorrow. There's a couple smallest branches I may trim off. Then I'll give all the plants another preventative spray of the Nuke Em to ward off mites. I haven't seen any mites in the tent to this point, just trying to keep the guard up with something natural. Nuke Em is citric acid, water and yeast, with a small amount of potassium sorbate. It was easy enough to apply and doesn't smell up the house.

Here's the Copacabana, new growth looking good after feeding:

All in all, happy enough with the progress. Room is too dry/hot but I didn't want a humidifier in there with those led panels. The soil mix has too much perlite in it so I get sinkholes when I water and it's probably developing dry spots in the root zone...I'm trying to increase the watering frequency as time is going forward to keep them happy.

Starting day 26 today:

Plants have been taking the nutes well so far. Using the Seagrow 16-16-16, started at 1/4 tsp/gallon and up to 1/2 tsp/ gallon now. Also using Botanicare CalMag at around 4ml/gallon.

If only I could get those girls to do some laundry while they're sitting in those baskets.

The baskets take up a lot of space, so the Love Potion is kind of squished on one side against the tent wall in front. My ph meter is a cheapie one and the calibration went out of whack almost immediately. I believe the LP got a very acid feed last time, just fed again yesterday at what I hope was 6.3

She's throwing out some pistils and seems to be fine. I hear these don't get real tall.

And finally, here's the Muay Thai:

Here's what the FIM did--there are now three tops instead of the two I would have got by topping:

I pinched up the Thai quite a bit the other day, seems to be responding well. She has thrown out a few preflower pistils. The Copa has stayed pretty compact as is, but I pinched her up a bit too. The LP I bent the top over for a half-day/day a couple times to help the underbranching, and now I've let her go natural.

Temps have been mild lately, actually having temps between 76-85 in the tent. I put some dishes of water in there to add some evaporative humidity, raising it a few points around 40 or even 45%, I think the conditions have been very good.

We have some hot ass weather coming next week, though.

I also ordered another old-style Mars Hydro 300W led panel for the other end of the tent. $70 off ebay, can't find a better deal for the money. I'll have that in a week and then I can give things a little more space in there. I can see the Thai taking up at least half the space in there before she's all said and done.

Been fun so far watching them grow. Got the Sour Bubbly and Devil Cream starting up, should make for a full tent. Trying to keep things happy and see them through!

Looking good man, did you consider building a frame to build the screen around? That would give you a bit more space to work with. You can use wood, pvc pipe or metal for the frame and get some string to lace the screen.

Hey--thanks for some feedback here. I thought about maybe building something more custom but I was looking for a shortcut. That's me, though. I've tried using wood frames in the past but they ended up heavy and kind of clunky. I do want them to be mobile if I can, and I was looking to use inexpensive and readily available materials. The string only took a couple minutes to tie on to them.

The laundry baskets were only like $3.47 each and they are actually stable enough around the perimeter to not jostle the plant and branches when I pick them up. Not flimsy at all, surprisingly.

I'm most concerned about how big the Thai is going to get.

I haven't decided what I'll do. The length of the basket is already maximized in the tent (24.5" in an 84" x 24" tent), so I might tie in some canes through it width-wise and tie a little more string across to which to bend and fasten branches. It's 17" wide, so if I could add 12" width on each side it would cover half the width of the tent (41"), with some branches spilling over. Other than that, I plan on just letting the colas grow up tall on the edges of the tent and keep bending back the branches in the middle that get too close to the light.

I might still have to pluck a plant and put it outside to fend for herself, for want of space in the tent. I might also have to get a timer if they don't all want to autoflower under 24/0 light.

Or, I could make half the tent a permanent screen and give up on moving that plant around. I've thought about that too. I'm still thinking about it as they go. I definitely appreciate the feedback, bro.

Yeah, I'm also not a big fan of wood. PVC pipe should be pretty easy to work with though. I just thought it looked like the Thai was going to outgrow that screen pretty quickly. Adding the canes for this grow is a good idea, then you can keep training them LST style.

Any particular reason that you want to move the plants around? Mine stay put as soon as the screen comes down. You could also build screens for the individual plants but it seems like it would be some extra work. I like being able to share one big screen between 3 plants, if one plant turns out bigger it gets a bigger piece of the screen simply.

I just gotta say that laundry baskets are a pretty ingenious idea. Plants are looking sweet.

Thanks, bro, I'm grateful to get some feedback here. I absolutely agree with you that the Thai is not going to fit that screen for very long. I thought about a permanent screen but I do like the ability to move the plants if I need to. Because the laundry basket exactly fits the cab in length, I'll probably keep with it and cane across the width and tie some string. It was a USA made basket and is firm, I did find it at a WallyMart. I wouldn't trust a $ Store basket as being flimsy or possibly poisonous plastic.

Why move the plants around? -- well, mostly, I like the idea of being modular because I don't want to strain my back watering them and then using my turkey-baster to get the runoff. Ghetto, I know. lol. Killz my back. Also, I like the option of moving the plants around to different angles and exposures of the (what will eventually be three led panels) depending on their life cycle, shape, and health status. The preventative spraying for mites is also easier if I can just pull the whole plant out and let it dry off outside the tent for awhile while the others are humming along, so I do like modular. A permanent screen is bank, of course, so long as you can access the pots easily for watering and drainage of runoff. I also envisioned a suprise, short notice visit of inlaws who are flat-landers when it comes to canna and I may want to move the plants away for a day if I needed to, perhaps into some big boxes in the garage for an afternoon. Not likely that will happen, but that is another reason I like autos because you don't have to worry about messing up their schedule.

Thanks for the props, stepside. They're coming along well enough for sure. I'm having a lot of fun so far, and it's amazing to watch how fast these auto plants go.

I see your point(s), it makes sense. Try it with the canes and if you're happy with, keep it. I know @Hazy had excellent results using that method. Looking forward to seeing the results.
