Grow Mediums Coco vs soil for autoflowers?

With autos, what is the most effective medium for overall yeild and potency?

Well man coco is great by all means but i have fallen in love with organic growing and pure coco can't uphold the microorganisms as well as a soiless medium

Hey @Nuggz I definately get you! I agree that making the supersoil is a bit involved for me with the amount of time and space i have - but have you heard of the new soil vendor on the site KindSoil?

They sell pre-made supersoil in small enough batches for a small hobby grower. There's some staff members testing it out - but early indications are looking good!
I'm holding off until i see what the rest of the staff make of it all - but i'm hopefull that maybe a 50/50 coco and this pre-made supersoil may be just the ticket!

Good luck on your first coco grow - I was a soil user to start with and moved over to coco a few years back. It's always been good for me! :D Just want to make less work for myself long term now :D

:d5:
Ive been doing it with soil n haven't been having much luck so going to try coco this time around. So this has helped me. Thank you

Did well with coco, did almost as well with soiless ss#4, but soil attempt bombed due to gnats. Definitely less problems with pests in coco or other soiless. I’m not sure what I will use next.

Hello

Good Morning All-

I am a first time grower using coco and absolutely love it! The only drawback is you have to water at least once a day along with nutrients and maybe more. My autos Gelato and Gorilla Glue are on Day 52 and doing fantastic. They are the bushiest plants I’ve ever grown!!

Here’s some pics.

I see propel saying mix SS with coco. Why? Doesn't that kind of defeat the reason you use SS? SS is a plant and water only method( should be if you use a large enough container, found that out myself and chased nutes the rest of the grow). If you're going to pay the $$ for SS why mess with it?

It's been a long time since I used soil but I saw a drastic increase in growth speed when switching to coco and I haven't seen a soil plant grow as fast as my coco plants do. I'm just an average grower I'm sure a good grower could do better with either or but the ability to water every day and control feedings seems to give faster veg times. Which for autos means bigger plants.

I am in coco and I like it. Over watering, pests etc put me off soil, but it does sound less labour intensive than coco and I have seen people on here grow great plants in it.
For me personally at this moment coco is my first choice.
So my vote is Coco.
