Lighting Cobshop.net info, questions and answers

The 3590 would be a good upgrade but it's a bigger cob than the 3070. It may not fit without going the thermal epoxy route instead of a holder. As for the wattage I think it's a bit high for the space but posssible. I'd consider swapping the driver on the tgl as 100 watts on a 3070 is waaay to high. Not sure the exact efficiency numbers but I'd say it's not that great. What do you think?

yeah, was thinking about swabbing the 50w 3070 chips for citizen.. here's the info on my lights;

the 100w is fine for me @the moment..

would have get you lights, but the atlantic between us, and all, u uknow..

I understand. The 3070 at 100 watts is probably below 40% efficient though. A 3590 would be much better if an 1825 citi but I believe the driver in yours is in the 36 volt range

still some translation error here..
i have 2 of the 55w on witch I'm planning to upgrade the chips to citizen, still running on the same 55watts, so my light would be basically same as yours, but with just a bigger heatsink?.. wouldn't that be possible just by removing the old chips and fitting the new in their place(maybe some drilling etc) and fitting some reflectors on them?

that 100w wouldn't be touched, and if neccecary to be dimmed(there's a lead on the lamp for that)

sorry for the confusion, english isn't my native language.. and i'm waaaaay stoned atm..

Hello I have a 3x3x6 tent and wanted to build some lights. How many lights do you recommend and what driver would be best suited for myself. I will probably be flowering in the tent. Thanks.

For the 3x3 I'd recommend 4-1812's and a hlg-240-1050. The 3500k will veg and flower well. Or you could go with the 4 pack which is 125 per cob shipped. Price things out on the full DIY and double check with prices on cobshop and see which fits your budget the best. Any more questions please feel free

I wouldn't go through the work to swap the 3070's to 1812's. You are still in a fair efficient range either way where I dont think swapping things around would pay for itself. I would dim the 100w version though.

This may seem like a silly question but does the individual lights that you have require a driver or is it already attached to the lights? If i was to purchase the 4 pack would i need to get anything else for them or just plug and play basically.

The AutoCobs and the 4 pack are complete ready to hang and they come with ratchet hangers too. The almost complete needs a driver and a frame.

About 5 minutes time and the 3x3 is covered like this.

Is there any good Canadian retailers for drivers having a hard time finding anything. Must say finding the parts isn't easy or I'm looking at the wrong place.
