Lighting Cobshop.net info, questions and answers

Hey @BigSm0 i know you probably get bombarded with this question all of the time but how many do you think I would need for a 2x3 tent? I ordered one about a month ago to replace a led I had in one of my tents and love it.I just got a extra tent though and was thinking of using just your cobs in the new 2x3 so was curious as to how many you think I would need for that space.

I always have time to talk about cobs:thumbsup:
For a 2x3 I'd go with 2 total. If you had a high ceiling you could go with 3 and raise them a bit higher than normal and that would give you a more even coverage but it's not necessary Do you plan on one tent for veg?

Two sounds great right now one of my 2x3 tents has three leds and one cob, one above each plant it's probably overkill in that tent though. But usually I have five or six plants running in that tent but more so in a perpetual style then full grown so the little ones catch the side light.

So with two I'm guessing I would just hang them in the middle of the tent right? Like one middle right and one middle left? I'm so used to having four corners lit with one above each plant instead of two across that's why I'm asking.

No I don't think I'll use one for veg. Im thinking of using it either for breeding only and or some photos but I'll let the photos veg with my autos. Although It probably wouldn't hurt to throw a 6500 k in the auto tent idk.

Thanks for responding so quick!

Spot on. The only thing I do which is very minor is instead of even thirds I space them I little more to the outer edges. In your space you would have 18 inches to your first cob but 18 inches between cobs. The center would have a lot more light than the outer edges as both cobs would be crossing in the middle. Hope that makes sense. Minor details like this that make a small difference all add up to a big difference in the end.

Part of why I like the singles so much. 100% maximizing each light for your space. Many people might think 110 watts in a 2x3 isn't enough. For standard framed lights that have the cobs spaced 6 inches apart it wouldn't be. Now it's easier to do it with less.

Makes perfect sense thanks for the help buddy. I will get another one ordered as soon as I get paid.

Can't ask for much more than this. The scrog is 99% full and buds are starting.

Hello all, Currently the 3500k cobs are out of stock. I'm hoping for a delivery this coming week. I will still need to build them and test them so it will take a couple days after they arrive before I can ship.

Sorry for the incinvience. When they do come back I'll throw up a 10% discount on them for a weeks time.

I still have plenty of the 4000k and 6500k if interested.

@Son of Hobbes @budelee can one of you sticky this please?
