Lighting Cobshop.net info, questions and answers

that's sound like a perfect idea, you will not be disappointed

I'm in a 2x2 and removed my black dog 200w and replaced it with 2 of these look at my pic wait to see what @BigSm0 says but looks like I got full coverage in my area these things are crazy lol. If I threw my black dog back in there it would be way overkill and crammed packed with lights. Good question tho

Is running two 3500k autocobs with a 300w mars hydro overkill in a 2x3 or should I just get one to go side by side with the mars light?

Most people would look at it like 300+110 but it's actually the same as 3 autocobs par wise. The 300 as people know is not a 300 watt light.

So having 3 in a 2x3 is actually 27.5 watts per square foot compared to say a 3x3 with 4 cobs which would give you 24.4 watts per square foot. I don't think the few extra watts would hurt.

If you were to have 3 in a 2x2 it would be 41 watts per sq foot. You are right in thinking it would probably be to much.

Anyone coming in from a photo period forum will probably look at this and say this guys wrong as I just read hundreds of people saying we need thousands and thousands of watts. The truth or proof is in the grows. The reason it's different here is these are autos. For instance if you try to mimic the 50 watts per square foot recommendation which is the most common suggestion to an auto you may have nothing but a burnt crisp if you keep the lights less than 2 feet. Trust me I have done it. I also know that the (daily light integral) -google it. Is real. Total hours of light times the wattage of light per day. With autos being anywhere from 18-24 hours of direct light per day compared to photo period plants having a 12 hour max per day. Just about equals the same numbers in the end.

Like my main man @BigSm0 said, proof is in the results

Nice looking bud. Got some nice frost too. Just wait a couple more weeks and you'll be in heaven.

Longest 2 weeks in the history of time bro lol
None the less, all the tell tale signs of top shelf dankness are present & evolving - it's beautiful man!

Indeed! Except mine is a Walmart brand, still same model - what you trade in oscillation you gain in fan power and easy angle adjustment - just snag either 2 zip ties or ratchet hangers and attach to bottom bar upside down up top. Works great for my setup - bottom cool fan in, top canopy fan, Carbon/exhaust fan out.
