Lighting Closet Grow | Fast & Vast | Dinafem White Widow | Mars Hydro LED Reflector | Soil

Moose, Thx, yes they are big. I am a little overwhelmed but am loving it. Being that large is a good problem to have, no? As for the water, this is a wicking system. All I do is make up water to the right ph and add nutes. Then pour it into the reservoir. The reservoir has a little float on it so I can see if one is getting low. Next go around I will rig it so that my reservoirs are linked together with a main reservoir outside the tent. Then all I will have to do is make sure one is full and not 5. Soil mix stays perfectly moist, not too soggy and nottoo dry. TMM

  • I am giving it 1/4 dose of FF suggested Big Bloom/Tiger Bloom.
  • Adding in 1 teaspoon per gallon of General Hydroponics Cal/mag
  • PH'd after adding nutrients up to 6 (plain water was ph 7) PH runoff was 6.5
  • Soil is 25% Perlite and 75% Fox Farms Ocean Forrest
  • Avg Room temps are 76-84
  • Mars Hydro 192x3 Reflector series
  • Feeding every other watering
  • Plants are now 53 days from germination (in pics below)

Any advice would be great. I ain't scared! ;)

Excuse the crappy Iphone camera

No flushing until an accurate pH can be taken, and we know whether it's worth the stress on the plants to do so,....

  • Moose'- sounds good,... the BB is great stuff, but very very mild- check out the NPK#'s, all in the decimal range...I treat BB like a supplement really, and add it into just plain water sometimes too,... I think the soil pH is okay,.. that run-off pH, is that from just water @7.0? Not the nute's soln., right?

Purple plant- that coloring up is normal, not an issue there,...I see burnt tips, and some patchy necrosis, which is indeed some minor nute burn,... seems weird, huh, even at 1/4 power!-- but that soil is rich, and auto's are notorious for variable nute conc. tolerances,...a case in point here! Keep it mild from here 'til cleansing time (last 7-10 days before harvest-- no nuthin' but water during this time, and try to finish on the dry side)...

The other one-- huh! now that symptoms have advanced some, I'm less sure about what this is honestly,... veins are yellowing, and micro-spotting-? With green interveinal spaces-- that's the opposite pattern for Mg defc., though Ca defc. can do that vein spotting thing; that overall surface discoloring is confusing,... might be a micro-nute defc...? Ima wave this at more experienced eyes, bro',... hang tight meantime,...

  • Moose- I heard back from my "better eyes",... general conclusion is P defc.; the early "dirty" purple burnishing over yellowed tissue is more indicative of straight lack of defc., as opposed to pH related lockout defc.,... figuring the tip damage was from earlier on, but now the native P sources in the soil are depleted, and the 1/4 strength dosing of bloom isn't quite enough now, so try increasing it to 1/2 strength, and see how they react over a few days,... well go from there! In the future, if not now, consider getting a PK bloom booster, just to drop a little extra in there to really fire up bud production!... and no more hot soils, as this makes your fert's and supplementary inputs a bit dicey for bad reactions,...adding more is easy, fixing too much --a drag! ...oh, and a micro nutrients supp' (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, etc.) is a good thing to have on hand too,...

Day 67 | Each Plant has different syptoms

Almost ready to harvest.

The low pH Fox Farms Ocean Forrest straight outta the bag has messed me up. All kinds of nutrient lockouts. ha

Oh well, live and learn.

Man those are perfect! You might only have a 12-16" plant but that thing is PURE bud!!! Looks delicious!

Great grow. Very helpful as I am starting out. Just ordered a Mars Hydro Reflector 144x3.

Question for you, and sorry if I missed it: How big is your closet? Also, I would be curious to know at what points you adjusted the height of your light and how high. Perhaps you also answer that in your video, i just haven't watched them all.

Beautiful work!

Thanks!

My closet is 2 feet x 5 feet. I adjusted my light 14 inches above the canopy (top of plants) for most of the vegetative stage. (1st month)

I lowered it to 12" above the canopy for the flowering. (even though it will work fine at 24")
