Dutch Passion CBD Kush & Blueberry Scrog under a GN Rebel

Ah man all subbed up sorry im so late. You have to let me knwo if there is much a of a difference between the Photo BB and Auto, im mad to know. Best of luck this time round.

No worries Briain, glad you could join. I will definitely let you know how the Blueberry turns out. I'm pretty curious to try it myself :smoke: I'm also curious to find out how it smells, I really like the ABB smell.

Great stuff dirty, just popped some DP Frisian Dew myself.

I hope your tent will be jam packed with fat buds bud

:peace:

Thanks Gilly! Here's to fat buds "AFN smoke out" I will stop by and have a look at your grow, you did a great job last time around

good luck you dirty little budster ;-)

Thanks Tony!

Things have improved since I moved the light up so I hiked it all the way up so it's now around 70 cm away. I will leave it there until they look like they can handle more and then slowly lower it. It left a bit of damage on one set of fan leaves on CBD1 but it doesn't look too bad. I've also seen a bit of Mg def but I think most of it occured when the light was lower. I was hoping the dolomite lime would help out with that but perhaps 1 tbsp per gallon is not enough.
They're starting to look a bit hungry so I think I will feed them pretty soon. I just wanted to wait a bit until the soil dries out. The pots are still pretty heavy although the top 3-4cm is dry. I think I will start them out with rhizotonic, full dose of cal-mag and 1/4 dose of veg nutes. In the mean time I've been foliar feeding them with rhizotonic and cal-mag.

And now for some pictures...

I noticed that the Mg deficiency started showing up on newer growth as well so I gave them their first feeding on day 17. I watered with a full dose of rhizotonic and cal-mag + 1/5 of veg nutes at pH6.5. I only gave each plant 0.5l of water so they don't take too long to dry out. I also switched over to foliar feeding with epsom salt. I'm not sure if the cal-mag I have works that well as a foliar.
For the next grow I have to figure out a way to avoid this early Mg def. I'm considering going back to CFL for the first week or two or perhaps pre-watering the soil with cal-mag. I was hoping the dolomite lime would do the trick but it doesn't look that way.

They're still looking a bit paler than I'd like, I'm hoping that will improve over the next few days. I was not quite sure how much nutrients to give them and if anything I thought I might have given them too much. Now I'm wondering if it was enough.

Day 19

Man, this mag deficiency is a bitch. It keeps showing up on new growth in spite of twice daily foliar feeds with epsom salts and a full dose of cal-mag last feeding, albeit only 0.5l per pot. When the soil is dry they will usually take close to 2l of water. Since I didn't want to risk waterlogging them I decided to try something a bit different. I mixed a small batch of feed, 0.25l per plant. I used a full dose of rhizotonic, double dose of cal-mag and 2/5 of veg nutes. Basically the same amount as last time but in half the amount of water. Hopefully it doesn't backfire and I end up with nute burn instead. I guess I will see in the next few days.
If anyone has any other tricks for dealing with issues like this I would be happy to hear it.

Man the Led must really be packing on the cal/mg. How have things been since you gave the last feeding? Man just dont worry about it take all this as a learning curve, after another couple of grows you will be doing this like a pro.

Thanks for the encouragement Grim, dig the new name by the way. They're doing a bit better, I gave them 0.5l with a full dose of veg nutes and a double dose of cal-mag 6 days ago. The new growth is coming out greener but after a couple of days I start to see some signs of Mg def on the new leaves as well, not as bad as before though. It's incredible how mag hungry they are, I get a feeling they would be the happiest growing in a pure cal-mag solution:grin:. I thought I had corrected for the problems I had last grow but it obviously wasn't enough.

It's really frustrating to deal with deficiencies this early on because I can see that they're hungry but the pots are taking forever to dry out so there's not a whole lot I can do about it. They're starting to dry out now so I will give them another day or two and then give them a proper watering until run-off. I'm leaning towards another full dose of veg nutes and a double of dose of cal-mag as they're still looking a bit pale, especially the side shoots. I guess there's a risk of nute burn but I have to try it out. I'm tired of looking at underfed plants.

My original plan was to flip them around week 5 but I'm pretty sure they will need more time to recover. I'm a bit worried about heat issues later in the grow. Worst case I might invest in a portable AC but I'm hoping running 12/12 will be enough to keep them cool.

I snapped a couple of pics yesterday, which was day 29.

Can you foliar your Cal/Mag so you can work around the long time it's taking to dry out the soil?

I've been foliar feeding them with epsom salts and about a third of veg nutes, but to be honest, it doesn't seem to help that much. The only thing that seems to make a difference is getting a larger amount of cal-mag into the soil. However, it's difficult to say since they might have been in even worse shape without it.

Cheers dude, your set up is looking sweet, nice and clean. Yeah man this is very interesting i wasnt aware that photos were so hard on mg, especially so early. This is earlier than an auto for sure?

I've subbed up dirty budster. Good luck, hope you sort out the Mag problems.
