Indoor CBD Extraction Help?!

Hello all! On my first grow of CBD strains to make oil/tincture for anxiety/pain.

My question is around harvesting - do I need to completely dry and cure like normal, before I start the extraction process, either by infusion or ethanol extraction (I haven't decided yet) or can I start the process with freshly harvested still wet buds? And should I also include the leaf in this process, or flowers only?

Thanks!

Herb should be dried for accurate decarb, and to eliminate troublesome water.
Curing is completely unnecessary when making edibles or tincture.
You can even fast dry in a food dehydrator (110 F for 8-10 hr), and have same-day-as-harvest edibles, tincture.
190 proof alcohol extraction will get almost all the cannabinoids, but strained oils won't.
For stronger infused oils, don't strain out the plant matter.
Thanks Simplicio!

Yea when I get my land I plan to purchase this plus all the extra expander. This should hopefully be able to produce me enough oil to getting my first commercial extractor which start at about £50k.

That gadget is cool I aim to order one next month, I just seen the magic butter seems interesting too.

I don't like the addition of F4 to make it undrinkable. I'd need to see that it can flash off in the appropriate temp zones we purge at. Also ingestion and smoking/vaping need an entirely different look at the ppm left over by the F4.

If looking online, look where a chef would get supplies, they need food grade 190 for some foods, and can be purchased and shipped where everclear isn't available.

Thats an aweaome little system! Much more affordable than 50k! Lol

I do love the supercritical extraction, alas... baby steps.

I also own some Magical Butter Machines, but don't use them much anymore.
MBM requires a minimum of 2 cups liquid, and that much volume needs at least 2 oz flower to make a strong enough oil.
Everything MBM does can be done without it.

MBM is very useful for making long soak FECO with smaller amounts of herb. 1 oz in 2 C alcohol works well, but don't go above 130 F, or the alcohol will evaporate away.
