My only question, how many watts is your light(s)? That power strip looks like a fire waiting to happen.

Looks good. I've got to agree on that power strip. You might want to rethink that one. If you can, split everything between two circuits.

went to lowes and got new power strip, one for eight plugs heavy duty dual overload power center, said it protects against shorts and overloads....will this work will have pictures later.@muddy, when you say two circuits u mean 4 one plug and 4 the other?????the dual overload power center is like two power strips in one, i think :D so this should work

my light is a 400watt mh!!!funny last night my power strip quit running, i also had heater pluged up that u could not see... so i prolly had to much uh!!!!!also my light look a litttle dim(prolly me)after that bulb is good though. when i tested plug got 120v reading but said open ground and hot\neu reverse...everything seems to be running smooth now, but i wanna be safe.any help wouyld be great!

Hey hey carolina :smokebuds: First thing's first... gotta get your power situation sorted out bro. Running everything out of a plug that isn't grounded is not good. And with your power strip, even though it has all of those protections, everything plugged into your strip is still essentially going into one plug, the one where your power strip is plugged in. I'm not sure how much load the circuits in your house are capable of handling or how old the wiring is. Running a single 400W and a couple of auxiliaries is usually not a problem, but I definitely wouldn't run everything through a single plug. If you can, I would buy another power strip and run your MH from one, your auxiliaries from another, and plug them into separate plugs. Even better, plug them into separate outlets; even if that means you have to get a heavy duty extension cord and run it from an outlet in another part of the house. Safety is key bro... I watched my childhood friend's house burn down because her family had all of their Christmas lights plugged into one outlet. And that was just Christmas lights... not an HID. She and her family were lucky - they weren't home. Many others haven't been so lucky. I would make that your top priority.

As far as the babies go, they're lookin great! How high up above them do you have your MH set? And are they 6 days from when you planted them or 6 days from when they popped up?

thanks man i aslo have a 400w digital ballast that is not in photo...light is plugged to that and that to power strip, the grow room is in my shed and thats the only plug wid three prongs!but i do have another power strip so should i still go half and half???or should i run cord from my house to shed, there are other plugs in shed but all two prong...the shed also has its on breaker box if that means anything. but i do wanna be safe as i have a family, thanks for all your help...also i would say light is about three feet above them.and im using yeild master classic 6 inch hood...and they are six days from being planted, they just look tall and skinny to me...actually threre about 4 days old....but what the heck do i know

Right on man, with the outlet not being grounded I would run two cords out from your house if possible. One would be enough as long as you double check to make sure that the circuit and outlet are able to handle it inside, and that the extension cord is rated to handle the amount you intend to draw from it and then some. If possible, I try and run things at no more than 75% of what they're rated to handle. Maybe I'm a little paranoid, but hey safety first. If you need to be covert and your ground isn't frozen, you can use a flat spade shovel to pry the ground apart and stick the cord in behind where you're prying. When you take the shovel out, the ground will close back up on the cord. Might have to walk along either side of the line and push grass back down a little bit to flatten it out.

I think the babies look groovy man... I would just keep an eye and see how things play out over the next few days. By then, you should have a better idea of whether or not you need to lower the light a little bit on them. Still kind of soon to tell, but they look like they're off to a happy healthy start. :peace:

so run the cords from my house to the shed and plug the power strtips into extension cords???so jus totally bypass plugs in shed dont use them???for the time being i went ahead and put on two different power strips plug in to different outlets...so this should be ok untill i get cords ran!!!!or should i run to walmart???u think your paranoid..lol
