Hey guys. Pops was diagnosed with cardiopulmonary hypertension and I was wondering if any of y'all have any experience with it and treating it with oil or anything. I'm not even sure cannabis would help. He should be in the early stages but we won't know for sure for a few days. I'm going to start researching this today but figured I would start here first. thanks!

Natertots...its a common diagnosis amongst men post 40 and up. It means that the pressure on the pulmonary is high based on an echo or pulmonary function test. This will directly affect his lungs and heart mainly right side or right atrium/ventricle. Its a long term disease that can cause a size and muscle weakness in the heart leading to arrhythmias, leakage and congestive heart failure. He ll also have a hard time breathing. He needs to be treated medically. Although i love cannabis for many things there is no evidence based research on mary jane that supports a reduction in lung pressure. Go see a doctor get it dealth with early.

Hey...I have reported this post and asked a global mod to move it to the medical cannabis section, so hopefully you will get some more replies.

I did a test on my blood pressure over a couple months and several strains. In every case there was an at least 6 point systolic drop in twenty minutes.

Some strains as much as 12 points. Sativas could give a slight elevation, but that effect didn't last any longer than ten minutes.

I have very very high blood pressure and the slightest stress affects it ,I have found with out a doubt cannabis lowers my blood pressure and definitely helps with my stress .

mmm yeah I know that feeling. I remember when I was in the hospital they said stress could kill me and every 15 minutes for two days because they could not get a handle on it slamming me with bloodpressure meds all day long too. I did not even know it could get this high and be alive or coherent even. I was fine other than a ton of pain and really edgy :D LMAO! but it was( i rounded up so I could remember it and it was only maybe ten points off from the real number.) 300 over 200. insane. took almost three days to get it normal. and 6 mgs of morphine and another two hours later I was getting 40mg of oxycodone too. perfectly sober walking around LOL floored everyone mostly. LOL told them I had a lotta pain and it'll eat it up LMAO!

Definitely not fun the combination of pain and heart problems.

Hey guys blood pressure and pulmonary hypertension are two different beasts. Anything calming will lower blood pressure but we are talking strictly about blood pressure in the lungs. Both can cause serious effects but pulmonary hypertension is much more difficult to manage. This gentleman needs to get different medicine than the green kind.

I think everyone agrees. No one is disagreeing at least.
