Yes, pH down is phosphoric acid and it will increase EC value a little.

Yes it does - I think both Nitric & Phosphoric acid will raise the EC. (Not sure about lemon juice ... don't think it does)

Thanks for getting back to me Blue.

So once I’ve mixed up my base nutes and additives to the desired EC (say 1.4 for example) I would then ph to my 5.8 ish. I’m assuming then that the ph will raise this EC even more. So would this extra raise in EC from the ph down be ignored?

Slightly confused here [emoji30] but very appreciative of the help. [emoji4]

Hehhee You got it bang on! Well, it's what i would do anyway.

(edit - i mix my nutes in a 5 litre bottle ... hence the shaking (with the lid on!!!))
So my regime, would be ....

• Rhizotonic (shake shake shake),
  
• CannaA (shake shake shake),
  
• CannaB (shake shake Shake)
  
• Test EC (oooh 1.5 ... that was lucky! lol)

Then PH down to 5.8 (i don't "count" the EC that was added by Nitric Acid ... doesn't seem to me like "real feed" ^_^ )

Haha thanks @blue I think what’s been throwing me off is that I have been putting liquid silicone in first then adjusting the ph to somewhere around 6 before adding everything else. With the Liquid silicone taking the ph right up to about 9.5 I’m having to use more ph down than normal therefore I’m getting a final EC of about 2.0.
