Indoor Canadian Winter grow

Day 21 update

Still chugging along at day 21 from sprout.

The yellow sticky strips seem to be doing the trick to tackle the gnat problem.

I have watering with plain PhD tap water that I let sit out for 24 hours to allow the chlorine to dissipate.

Yesterday I added some liquid seaweed extract.

The ScROg net has been installed but I think I may lower it a few inches still and start bending over the main stalks once they hit the net.

Any info/opinions are welcome

Day 28!!!

Started training the ladies to allow for more light penetration. Since I’m so limited with height, the SCROG net will still play its part.

I have to say that I will probably never use bottled nutes again. At this stage in life, I have never had an auto so big (King Louie on the right).

Organics for the win!!

Update!

Day 40

HPS has been in for one week. I’m thinking about putting the MH back in for the last few weeks in full flower. Word is, it helps with trichome production.

The fungus gnats are still around. I’m going to try nematodes soon, on top of the yellow sticky traps to finally kick their ass.

is your HPS light on for the pics? Looks orange. Turn lights off and use your camera flash. Makes for much better pictures to look at for us lurkers.

For the gnats I was going to suggest a layer of play sand on top of your medium but it looks like you are top watering so that might not work well. Another option is get mosquito dunks. Brake a small piece off and put it in whatever bucket you use for mixing up your feed water and always leave that chunk in the bucket all time with feed water. They say it lasts 30 days so replace after that. That way your watering will kill the gnats. Dunks work great on gnats. Maybe water very well if a dunk based solution and then a quarter inch of sand on top after that and let it sit for a day or two. That will kill em.
