Calling out bad Autoflower genetics/actors

Those big name strains are these guys money makers. And they don’t pass them out to every joe that wants them.
how many times have you seen those elite, hyped breeders advertising autos?¿ never.
The first thing I look for is availability. I check if the strain is available in seed or by clone. Then I consider the likelihood of the guy that’s making the offering to have that actual strain. I repeat, those guys don’t pass out their strains to just anyone.
Most of the time these guys will use the same cross and call it whatever cut, or just buy a pack of seeds to make autos with. Hell, we do that.
To tell you how messed up it is. These guys will grab free seeds off one of the earlier mention sites. Then they ask for free autos. Then they breeds it and offer it likes it’s the real thing. Yeah right. Then I see people jumping all over it. They claim to have authentic strains… but they get their bean and cuts from friends. Tell me that crap is the “real deal.” I see it every day.
We can do that ourselves. The only difference is we have better autos to cross to. Those guys just grab any auto someone will give them. To them buying an autoflower is out of the question. In fact buying any is out. If it’s not free, they don’t want it.
….In most cases these are the crackpots we buy seeds from. I’m not doing that crap anymore. I’m only buying from the original breeders direct. Or from a know clone offering by a reputable breeder.
I’m not talking about mephisto, fastbuds, Dutch passions, sweet seeds, Barney farms. We all know who the auto breeders are. These guys breed autos, so why you even consider buys seeds from someone else that is only here to take advantage of the auto money train.
it makes no sense.
You can get better auto seed from the growers on afn than buying from those random fckboys!
Keep blowing your money like that and you will forever be complaining about poor quality. I
If you make your own autos, at least you will have partial knowledge of what’s in it.
what’s in it is what you put in it.

Just apply common sense when buying seeds. If the seller is ilgm with every strain under the sun and no breeder brand logos then it's white labeled copycat breeding which any monkey with a bottle of cs can do. Selfing a strain without true knowledge of that strains genetics can cause all sorts of mutations so it's a bit of a punt buying from sites like this.

On the other hand a site like attitude which also has thousands of seeds but associates the breeders logos with the strains is going to be legitimate genetics from that breeder. It's not unusual for a breeder to sell through a third party, it enables them to reach a wider market.

The thing is nobody can own the genetics they create, they can own their brand but not the genetics. This has far more advantaged than it does disadvantages. But one of the down sides is that anyone with very limited actual breeding knowledge can jump in on the game to try and make a quick buck. Most of the time the lack of quality in the lines will weed out the bad actors.

That's why the more we discuss and share information on sites like this the harder we make it for the phonies to get in on the market.

Yeah I'm very very selective in who I buy seeds from. Typically ill go as far as listening to any interviews I can find. Look at other people's grows. At this point I'm done buying seeds unless is something really special. All my focus is on my own projects. Like you said blu I can make crosses that are using better or just as good cultivars then those so called breeders. So why would I give them 7 to 10 dollars a seed? Then after paying 40 to 50 for 3 seeds I have to worry about those germing. I want hundreds of seeds to play with. Luckily I've found tons of good quality regular seeds to have some good variety for years to come. That and sts should keep me busy for quite a while. I'm heading to Boston's necann convention tomorrow maybe I'll find a gem or two their. Usually your handed free seeds anyhow. Especially if you chat up some people at the booths. I ended up with 20 to 30 free seeds last convention I went to.

I hear fastbuds isn't on par with Mosca or mephisto? I'm limited on a budget and can't afford a weak medicine. So I should look at diadem maybe? Appreciate input
Fast buds have not disappointed me yet.
The funny thing, Is the love affair me and my friends have for mephisto 24k it is only rated at 15 percent but everybody loves how it puts you to sleep.
The ones I wouldn't buy from are ones like i49, true north, I love growing marijuana , etc.
They just seem generic to me

Anybody got any recommendations for a seed bred by someone on here? Got space for 1 plant opening up soon. Prefer something uplifting/energizing. Indoor. Other than mando... Gotta take card, Venmo, cashapp...
Ask Jean-O , sometimes he is looking for testers for gear on here. I just harvested a Blue Dog auto from him. Aroma is reminiscent of Jack Herer. Just cut today.

I paid $80+ once for 2, 3 packs of FB from a "reputable" seed bank. I got my order of 6 seeds and I got one white label northern lights auto seed. Which is fine, I agreed to pay that price and I really have/had no expectation on freebies. I got what I paid for, and something extra.

I've paid $44 each for a 3 pack of Mephisto, and Night Owl from seed banks. Got 2 random white label freebies.

I paid $88 total for 2, 3 packs of seeds from Mephisto direct recently. I received 2, 5 packs, and 5 SkyWalker x Forum STomper freebies. So 15 seeds.

I paid $35 total for a 5 pack of Alien Moon Rocks from Twisted Tree, I received 7 AMR in total for that price.

I've ordered multiple times from New420guy. Both autos and photos. He always includes great freebies. Always great results from his seeds.

Again, not all about the $$$ and the freebies. But where do you think I'm buying from next time?

Sounds like I'm talking only about freebies. But I'm not. Just pointing out that there are 3 examples above of buying directly from breeders and I am sure of the quality (mostly), and they are very generous about providing a real bang for your buck. So do we have a list of breeders anywhere on this site that we are able to buy directly from?

Darkhorse does a weekly podcast and covered white label seeds, aka fake seeds last week. They make bank off of new people and scams, lots of rando beans labeled whatever most hyped at that time. Sounded like it's worse in the global auto market.

These days I personally only get seeds from breeders I've researched who provide lineage and other details. I want to know what phenos are out there or if it's going to be harder to train, whatever.

Some people don't care as much, or won't immediately but will discriminate more over time. I guess there's enough market for everyone, but definitely buyer beware.

I'm fortunate to have hoarded enough quality auto beans and can just wait on a few must-haves/new shiny things.
