It's a fallacy that landrace strains aren't as potent. The Mazar i Sharif has tested to 20% THC! Now this strain has been grown the same way in the same place for 500-700 years.
There are several seed companies now that are preserving these heritage strains. I also have some Rif Mountain hash plant seeds that came direct from the fields! Thank you Toby, where ever you are!

I grew lsd from Barney's which is skunk x mazar presses out pretty good. There are some strains that are 30percent. Are there any landrace plants that test that high? I'm not saying landraces don't have potent expressions in their Gene pool. But aren't they all over the place high CBD high thc mix

Yes and no. They contain(ed) a more balanced combination of cannabinoids. The last thirty years people have looked only at thc for breeding, creating monster plants that produce super high thc concentrations, but very low on the rest. This is changing now with breeders looking for high CBD, CBG and so on...
I believe we are into some fun times when breeders start combining those strains resulting in more "balanced" strains like the good old days

I'm really digging that terps seem to be ruling the roost these days and people aren't just chasing THC%.

I could give a damn about the THC content if I'm getting the effects that I'm after.

I think they are both important I want a lot of resin and flavor some of the flavor is in the heads with the thc so you have less resin you have less terps I want my buds coated with resin. Puts out more in vape requires less to smoke in a bowl or whatever those strains loaded with resin when they burn are more fragrant. Taste like they smell even when burning because they got alot of resin. But CBD thc hybrids are nice but so is a 30 percent bud. If we didn't have high potency bud and 1 to 1 thc CBD became the norm people would miss the high thc stuff. My l

I've heard of that strain, in fact I saw it somewhere lol! I haven't grown a Paki yet, or even a true Hindu Kush strain, their on my list!

The Mazar has become a big hit with the family! Thinking about dusting an Auto Ultimate with some Mazar Pollen.......

The portal had them, I do believe. Still might. I’ve got some of Bald Monkeys Thai Passion to grow soon. Supposedly made with a land race thai strain that naturally auto flowers.

I would appreciate that! Yes have considered the Think Fast. I've grown AU and loved the bud, maybe I'll try both, have to see what I have for DP seed. Was given several from a seedbank that botched an order!

I don't know of a landrace that tests that high. And personally, I don't believe for a minute you can tell a 30% tested bud from a 20%. And for whatever reason THC % doesn't mean a lot unless it's really low. There are hash plants out there that will test 10-12% that will stone you but good! And trait expression in landrace can be consistent withing a particular strain, so some are and some aren't. Modern hybrids are the same, depending on the breeding, you can have genotypes that you may think are pheno types, and potency, flavor, etc can vary among them also.
