New Grower Buddha seeds syrup in a Wilma hydro system

Hi Bevis, I'm growing in a really short space with a 700W light. When I have plants that are approaching the light I pull their tops off to the sides of my tent and away from the light. What I think this does is prevent light burn at the top of the plant and allows more light to get to the bottom of the plant where small popcorn buds develop. I wouldn't worry about the stems bending. If you have to tilt your pot or net cups you'll be fine. Good luck!:tiphat:

That was my plan bud, but the stems are really thick, right up to the tip, if they were photoperiod i'd happily super crop and bend the shit out of them, but i'm worried about snapping these and at this stage with auto's I always thought the best way is to leave things alone?

Suffering the same and issue debating an ol photo trick i was taught...use weather striping to pad a set of pliars and use those to GENTLY crush the stem so as to safely supeer crop those thick stems.

Yeah, thats a good trick, has anyone done it with auto's though?

My big mistake I think was listening to the advice of the LED manufacturer to let the plants grow up to the light, it normally hangs a foot from the top of the tent.

I used to get lights as close as possible, won't be making the same mistake again.

Thats the question. ...u gonna do it or am i?

:goodluck: Aloha...
Watching and following along. I too have height restrictions so I'm looking at strains that grow a little shorter and / or figuring out a solution if they get too tall!

Sending much green mojo your way!

Im thinking, don't rush me! I just wonder if id be better off getting it outside. ..starting to take up a lotta room in my little box.and i got plants ta start ...and so does da wife...hmmmmmm

What exactly did you ask the LED manufacturer how much a plant or a cannabis plant should be away from it? In most cases you shouldn't really be asking such questions at manufacturers who don't specifically state creating their equipment for growing marijuana. If you do ask them they'll not answer according to what cannabis needs because providing help to people who possibly illegally grow cannabis with their equipment might get them in trouble or they just don't want to be associated with them. (although they and growers know most people who buy their equipment are doing so for that specific purpose). kinda like rolling papers and grinders in a nightstore you ain't going to ask those people "what's the best way to roll my weed?"

I didn't ask, it was advice given to growers on another forum where the manufacturer or rep is extremely active and as its my first LED unit with 5 watt Leds (alledgedly) my other LED is a 357 magnum and I always kept that close as possible.

Ph is 6.1 and I can't up the nutes as just got a bit of nute burn on the tips. using canna a+b which buffers the ph.

Cheers

When did you aquire the nute burn? If it was during veg. they might tolerate a little more as you're in flower but if they are a nice dark green you're probably right. Are you using RO/Distilled water or tap water and if you are using tap water have you subtracted out your starting ppms when you say your ppms are at 540?
