Bud discoloration@ wk 10 (plz help)

How do you identify bud rot from that picture? Honestly asking. What are the "clues" that led you to that conclusion?
It simply comes down to the colour of the bud, if you look you can see it's more of a grey/brown tone, this would give us as viewers online the initial 'warning signal', ideally it should then be followed up by a closer inspection by the grower, you can sometimes see what looks like 'fluff' or very fine hairs bundled together inside there too on affected areas (when checking in person).

The wilted browning leaf, not yellowing, the brown color of the bud... unfortunately I've seen it a bunch.
There is a product that can prevent, but it needs to be used from initiation of flower. Called rotblock. Ran a test last fall with silly rH #s... not one issue. 15969821320161466799217678133528.jpg15969821616381803873892201003092.jpg

A trick I like to use for this issue is putting the plants into pots you can move.

- get em up off the ground (I like to use a bench to raise them on)
- move them inside overnight
- move them if it's going to rain.

It can be a difficult one to spot at first. usually the first thing to look for is faded leaves receding into the bud structure.

from there, simply peel the bud back to look in at the faded (Think yellow or even brown and dried/dead looking) leaf goes into the bud. that's where you will see botrytis rear it's ugly head!

Sucks man... sorry.
I opened up this bud and found a tiny seed. I had cut off a couple bananas like structures a month ago. What do you make of this?

Hey man, you mentioned that you had cut up buds to remove bananas, right? Well the thing is that I got bud rot on one of my smallers buds from ripping out like 10 pistils by accident and it ended up rotting the very next day! Be careful with cutting up buds like that while theyre still growing!

If you were cutting nanners, chances are there's at least immature seeds. I know with autos most of the time you can pluck the nanners and let it run... that has never been my experience with photos. So, if I see nanners, that plant is culled and chances are I won't run that strain again. Many of the "photo varieties" that are all the rage are herm prone... gorilla glue, gelato.. and many more... breeding them and bringing them to auto brings their issues as well as their positive qualities.

I think that's the most probable reason for my seed issue. Due to the number of seeds i believe Broomhilda (ww auto from RQS) was or became hermie and polinated herself and Francelina (easy bud) that was outside with her. I have, literally, over 100 seeds. Guess i'll have to learn how to recognize males.

I love that your plants have names! :)
