Hey everybody I just got some 62% RH humidity packs in the mail but I'm not completely sure how to use them. I planned on putting my buds into my 4L jar with a hygrometer and then burping them until the buds are at about 64% then putting the buds into jars with the boveda packs. My question is, is it nessicary for me to jar the buds before hand or can I just put them into jars with the boveda packs once they have dried to the desired humidity?

I'd do what you said; jar buds, burp till in good curing range (60-65), then implement the boveda pack for long term storage and moisture management.

I wondered the same thing as you, whether these "2 way" packs work as good as they say, but I'm not too keen on risking a jar full of buds. I'd just do what the perfect cure tutorial says and use the packs when you've burped to the proper RH.

Also, it seems to me like sweating the buds on their journey from 70% to <65% really helps keep moisture levels even in the nugs. So ya I like the initial jar.

I jarred mine, they were too wet, took them out, cardboard box over night, back in jars, still a little wet, back in the box for a few hours, jar, pretty close now, sweated them over night, burp for few hours in the morning, jar while at work....you got it.

Thanks man :smokebuds: I just wanted to see if I could save myself some time and effort but I'm not will to risk quality so I'll probably cure as usual then put the boveda packs for long term storing

I've been doing the same thing. I'm kinda afraid of over drying now cause I did that on my first batch and it had almost no taste even in my vape

Once at 70% leave in jars and just burp to slowly bring rh down

How long do the packets last? I put one in a jar, I got a little from a grow so I burped it for one day and then put the packet in there. Staying right at 62%. Seems to be working well. I know everyone says wait until its been burped and in a certain humitity range but I couldn't help myself.

I heard they last about 30 days. Once the gel on the inside hardens they're useless

I'm not sure what you guys are talking about...what the hell is this "long term storing" you keep mentioning. I've never heard of any long term storage for cured buds, please enlighten me :smokeit:
lol

I plan on leaving mine in jars for a month or 2. The boveda packs will keep them at the proper RH for curing even if you open the jars.
