Bob's search for the real White Widow with Dutch Passion's regular genetics

Hey friends :toke:

It's been thirteen days since the sprouts had emerged from the soil. And have a look at the plants now.

Yesterday I topped all but two plants at the fourth or fifth node, depending on how far they were. The two that didn't get topped weren't at the fourth node yet.

I tried to FIM the tops off, but that technique hasn't worked for me yet. So we'll just have to see what happens in the coming days.

This thread is just two weeks old and already has got over 1K views. I whish to thank all of you for following along :bighug:

The variegated is keeping up with the spots on the new leaves. And sitting right next to Spock showed me the similarity in de serrations on the leave edges. I've been searching the web for old pictures of the White Widow plant and found some interesting details. Details I'm now looking for in these plants...

Spock's pointy ears are the biggest in all the plants which show the pointy serrations. But unlike it's neighbor the variegated one, isn't showing the lighter spots.
I did feel the plants were showing a bit of yellowing and because of the fact I can't repot before the light has arrived I gave the plants some water. Mixed into the water I added a teaspoon of Magnesium Sulphate, Calcium Nitrate and Monopotassium Phosphate. All three are directly absorbable by the plants, but aren't exactly "Organic".

Most of the plants are doing fine though. They're healthy and growing like their life depended on it.

When I Fimmed or Topped the plants I took each and every one of the out the tent, so they aren't in the same position as before. I also removed the vaporizer as the plants are creating the humid environment all by themselves. Removing the vaporizer also gave the plants a tiny bit more room for expanse.

Earlier I was discussing the leaves' serrations...well this plant looks like the old photo's I could find. The veins also run to the tips of each 'tooth', but not before deviating slightly to the 'dip' of the serrations.

A side shot to show the height of the canopy. Some plants are clearly growing faster and are on top of the smaller one's...For now this isn't an issue, but if the plants have reached this height in only 13 days and I have to wait another two weeks before the light arrives I think I'm screwed.

Today I'm not gonna run a time lapse. Have to leave in a minute to go to the vet with our dog. He started reacting drunk, shaking his head side to side an hour or two ago. The missus called the vet on call-duty for the second time as we got the advice to wait an hour and see what happens, and finally we can come by in half an hour. Whish us luck!!

Regards,

Bob :toke:
Good luck with the pup. Hate having to take them to the vet for situations like that. Hope he is all good. Your plants are looking real solid :goodluck:

Thanks for the kind words. It seemed I was the culprit of my friends discomfort. Earlier that day I emptied the ashtray from the stove on the lawn. Threw it in the air so it covered a large area. He must have been licking the ashes of the grass and after a while started to eat grass because his stomage was upset. Don't have to explain I felt real guilty about doing that and while the ashes on the lawn aren't a bad thing I will take care to do this only just before a rainfall and keep the dog inside until the white has been washed away from the lawn. Lesson learned!!

To continue with the post from yesterday. I took some pictures from the root balls to ask you guys if the need for transplanting is dire or not...

All healthy roots. Each two pictures is one plant. So the one above this and this one are from the same plant.
1710753880696 _small.jpg

The roots have migrated through the entire soil and started to clump up against the sides of the pot.

1710753880681 _small.jpg

In normal circumstance I would be repotting them into a larger pot. But as you all know I can't fit larger pots inside this 60x60 tent.

What do you think @Antonio_DutchPassion? Can I keep then inside these pots for another two weeks? Or will I be stressing the plants to much and cause some dwarfism? Also, what are your thoughts about that variegated plant in the previous post? Keep or toss

Ideally they should be potted up, but they would survive in those smaller pots okay for a while, though you'll have to keep an eye on their feeding. How big are those? Any restriction of the root mass will make the resultant plant smaller. But do you need to grow big plants for your goal of this grow?

These plants will be used to generate clone material for the White Widow project. I'm not intending these to flower out, well eventually. But not in the coming years. The problem with these is that the soil isn't fertilized heavy and now I'm having to feed them chemical nutes for the plants to stay nice and green.

Yup, they look nice and white. My friend has been sleeping all day, but as soon as he heard the frizzling of a wrapper he stood beside me to find out if it was something he could get a part of

Difficult one mate, usually I would think of skipping the one that is prone to variegation, especially in the case of having space restraints.. however, not always is the variegated plant caused by a genetic default. It can be environmental too. And if the plant grows healthy (structure + leafs) you could keep her as well. It wouldn't be the first plant I see grow out of those tigerstripe prints when she gets older. And like I said before, sometimes the best/most interesting ladies come out of the ones you don't expect.

Not making this easier I guess right? :crying: In your case I would probably cull her, although like many of you it always pain me to kill a younging before she had the chance of growing up..

I do have to look at how healthy the specimen is if I want to use it for breeding. Though it has made it so far and when I repot, I'll see if I can squeeze her/him in just to take a clone and run it. Like you said, it could as well be a special one.

Oh, yesterday after watering the plants (went a bit overboard) I needed to empty the tray as I didn't want the plants to sit in the remainders for to long.
And while removing each plant from one tent to the other, I rubbed the stems.
B4, D1 and H5 produced a heavy onion smell immediately, while I4 gave me a real nice White Widow smell that reminded me how the bud smelled. All others just gave off a faint smell of what I describe young cannabis plant. When placing the plants back into the emptied tray I placed the four in the middle and the rest of them around these plants, giving them some more room to expand.
I've made a note of this and will be checking the plants next week again. See if some of the others start producing that onion smell too.

Hey growers and blowers :toke:

Just did a dry fit with the new pots inside the mother/father tent. Seems I can only fit 21 plants inside. So I'm ending up closer to the final 16 plants I have room for in the flowering tent.

Yesterday I ordered myself a new bag of Viano MixProf Fertisoil 3+2+3+bacteriën+trichoderma on a local webshop. Tomorrow it'll be delivered. :coffee:
I'm going to use this to mix in the soil that goes in the new pots. And for good measures I'll be dusting the hole the seedling will go into. It's filled with goodies that the plants will love ♥
Hey @St. Tom, guess what it's made out of...
