Well I forgot to ask about the chrome light and I didn't weasel my way into a discount but i went ahead and ordered one. I'll do a write up after my first grow with it.
i have a blackstar 135w ufo w/3watt diodes that i use to supplement my CFLs. i love the light but IMHO the cooling fans are shite - very loud and 1 out of the 3 fans quit working after a month. i don't know if they use the same fans in the 240 panel...

This is what I use on my 2x3x5 box.
NuTone Ultra Silent exhaust fan 80 CFM 0.8 sones (yeah really quiet) has a 4" exhaust. Bought @ HomeDepot
It works just fine with my carbon filter. I did have to cut a panel to fit over the face of it. I forget what the measurement was, but I used some 1/8" Coated pressboard (an old drawer bottom) cut the 4" hole in it, Attached the round flange with a couple of screws and some silicon caulk, then duct-taped it on to the fan housing.

I needed the extra quiet fan myself, (It is whisper quiet, literally) If you don't need it that quiet, you can get a fan with the same output for probably half of what I paid.

I went with a S&P td-100x because...well because I can. I've wanted one for a while so I splurged.

Yeah, if you can prove it blew out in the first 30 days they will pay for the shipping and mail you a new unit as soon as you post the broken one. Call em up and talk to them, they seem reasonable and concerned with reputation.

Yeah, I looked really close at the one you got, cost wasn't an issue for me, Stealth was. And I could not get a straight answer on the sone measurement for the S & P
I knew I could almost not hear the Nutone @ .8 sones, as I had plugged one in & listened to it, I couldn't do that with the S &P.
When I got my carbon filter, I bought a package that had a vortex fan in it, but even dialed way down, it was too frigging loud. I am pretty hard of hearing, so if I can hear it, a person with regular hearing will probably notice it right away.
The Nutone isn't really designed for continuous use, so we will see how long it lasts.

I had a four inch vortex once, that thing was a fuckin' champ! It also sounded like a jet engine in my closet. 
The 100x is supposed to be quiet and people like it. Plus if i choose to upgrade it has the power I need. I figure even if my ventilation fan is silent my circulation fans will make a little noise and so will the fans in the blackstar. Stealth isn't a huge issue for me as no one goes in the grow room.
