It's been my experience that a lighter color green usually gets bigger. I think what happens is a plant that's not showing typical nitrogen toxicity, but he is very green actually grows a bit slower.

I couldn't find any pictures in my Blackberry Kush but I remembered there was this link here

HiYa, DD, I'm new to this forum, and a mod recommended I check out your thread. I finished a Blackberry Kush grow just after Christmas, with a lot of disappointment. I'll be following your grow because I'm really hoping you or someone here will convince me that my experience was an exception.
I was REALLY excited as this plant began to mature. The plant stretched to 15" in fourteen days from transplant to HID; encouraging. So I switched from MH-veg to HPS Bloom, started LST, and watched the plant progress. During stretch the centers of each new growth tip started turning jet black at every center leaf cluster (I'll post a couple of early pic's for you a little later). As it matured into bloom, the entire plant's calyxes began to display a beautiful purple hue, better than any blueberry photoperiod I've ever grown. By the time it matured, every entire calyx was a beautiful purple; only the fan leaves retained any green. The plant pic is in my avatar; here's a close-up of that pic:

And here's what she looked like just before harvest:

Unfortunately, as the plant matured, the calyx-es opened. I've seen this before in many sativa dominant strains, and sometimes (not always) it's hurt yield. This time, it hurt. A LOT. When harvested and cured, the buds dried way too fast (two days!!!), were see-through wispy. They retained their color through cure, but lost all aroma, never to return even after a month's cure. The high was great, but the taste degraded to remind me of Mexican brick. Final yield, 104g / 3.7oz., one of the lowest yielding auto's I've ever grown (only a Humboldt OG Kush auto was lower :( )
Looking past the disappointment, this plant was the most beautiful I've grown. So I’m hoping someone can show me this was a runt or a poor pheno:

I see you're dirt, but in case it's helpful, here's what I did. My environment was a single plant in a 24"X24"X63" tent, pure hydro, RO-water with cal-mag and Si added back. I used a 4 gallon. Flo n' Gro hydro bucket, flooding every two hours for 15 minutes. Lighting was a 250W HID light with cooltube & batwing reflector coupled to a 170cfm fan. A second 170CFM fan was coupled to a Phresh 4” X 12” (200 CFM) carbon filter for odor control. Nutrient regimen was a reduced strength version of General Hydroponics’ expert recirculating formula. The plant was not that nute-hungry at all, stayed from 1.8 to under 2.0EC the entire grow (that's with about 300ppm cal-mag and Si; so actual nutes were around 600-700ppm. So if you're drain-to-waste in your dirt you could go well under that). The plants maintained a nice bright lime green color (never went emerald / dark green) at this level.
Tent temps were low 60's / lights out to high 70's / lights on, a couple of times at the end of the light cycle (20 on / 4 off) temps went to low 80's, but the plant never showed any heat stress signs. Reservoir temps were stable in high 60's.

Take care of those girls, they should grow up to be very pretty and very good smoke quality. And I'm REALLY hoping your yields and cured taste were better than mine.
What is it about pretty girls that makes us lose our mind and do shit we'd never do otherwise?????
I'll hang a couple more pic's for ya after I get them off my phone. Bestaluck to ya!
