Beginning Grower: Taking on the Vegas Heat

Seedlings have sprouted and are looking good under the terrariums. Mixed my soil and placed in 30 gallon fabric pots. Soil was soaked to get ready for future transplant. Temps are reaching high 70’s here so far.

Hey fellas. Been a week since my last update, so just a few pics and notes on progression. Watering every 4 days or so, checking the soil as needed. Plants are still in the 2 gallon pots, looking a healthy green. Had an ant problem in my 30 gallon pots with mix, but added bait stakes and after 2 days no longer seeing too many of em. Planning on baiting around the pots. Highs have been 75-80F, with this Monday spiking to 89F, then dropping to high 70’s all week. Will double cloth the shade box next week.

Transplanted the babies into their final pots. Didn’t have much trouble really. Both molds held solid enough, the larger Widow did crumble a little, but no exposed roots, so that’s a plus. Future lesson, water the night before for better compaction. I’ve seen and had worse, so here’s to a healthy recovery and new growth. Cheers.

Just a small update. Plants were establishing new growth over the weekend, looking like the transplants only shocked them for a day or so. Looking good here in the desert so far. Mid-high 70’s with winds.

Good morning, happy 4/20 on this Saturday everyone. Another update on the 2 outdoor White Widows. Looking healthy still. Temps in North Vegas are reaching mid to high 80’s. Soil is still moist about 1/2” down after the light rain Tuesday. Growth looking like its accelerating with the heat.

Getting some growth out here in the heat. Temps are reaching mid 80’s-90’s. Started noticing a few things; both plants are getting these dropped leaves. Been a few days, and no other leaves are showing symptoms except these few blades. Also some tips are starting to turn a brownish / yellow.
