Beginning Grower: Taking on the Vegas Heat

Hey guys. With a lot of help and guidance, I’m starting my first grow in northern Las Vegas. Since it’s my first grow, I’ll save a journal here. It’s gonna be a challenge, but cheers for trying.

On March 21, after soaking in a cup of room temperature water for 16 hours, the seeds were dumped onto a napkin, folded, then placed in a dark room. Checked the moisture of the napkin, still very wet. Opened the napkin to check the seeds’ progress, 2 are cracked.

Hey folks TGIF, but anyway one could fill a library on what I don’t know about raising a plant. Mine will be out doors and in a good sunny place, somewhere around 10hrs of sun. Due to medical reasons I have my eye on blue dream and just gonna try gorilla glue. I’m gonna use happy frog soil in 5 gallon buckets, I was curious as to what to expect as far as plant height and yield if that’s even remotely predictable, thanks y’all..

Temperatures outside are still low 70’s here in Las Vegas, so I finished my shade cloth structure; will double cloth before the heat rises. Nursery pots are in the shade, premoist. Seeds taproots are now starting to shoot out after placing them in a warm spot behind my PC. Probably plant them in the morning after 1 more night of growth.

It’s Monday. After a night in a warm environment, taproots are measuring 3/4” or just under, so I’m planting. Got them in 3 gallon nursery pots (tops chopped to make 2 gallon) and placed under the “terrariums”. Mix is 50/50 OF and HF.

Checked on the germinated seeds in the pots, they’re starting to break soil. Sprouts should be up soon if all is well. Adding a pic of my photo plant in the garden bed as well, I think she’s doing good.
