Grow Mediums Bc's Hydro adventures

Thanks! Wow already @week 6. Today I topped off with 2 gallons fresh water then added 1 TBSP Atami Bloombastic,1 TBSP L-amino acid powder,1 TBSP soluble seaweed powder, 4 grams calcium nitrate, 2 grams magnesium sulfate & a little ph down. PPM 940 PH 5.9. PH is solid,it's hard to move lower so why try this late in the game? i'll be switching to 6.0 in a couple weeks anyway.EC is a little low atm but im still new to working in aditives to my regimen. So I want to observe the changes iv made befor I press on. Ill post pics soon when the lights come on. until then i'm gonna smoke this bud right here. this is the last grow, crazy pheno. GEDC0107.JPG

@ 42 days. I'm going to have to thin the squat one again. I rather not but she is FULL!

Hard to believe these two are sisters.

the taller one is just about 3 foot from the ground. belly button high. :/ the little one just over 2 foot from the ground. they are in 3.5 gallon buckets

I know your used to it but id shoot for a LOWER ec not a higher one even in organics. you should check some of the newer synthetics comin out there way concentrated ..That is unless your committed to organics.. ;)
Then again because your pro ,your ppms are made up of a lot of other things besides nutes so yeah what i said is debatable.

Ya man.I run lucas formula as my base. once I started adding other things to the mix everything is up in the air as I have no way to measure the individual elements. I could dump every week and not worry about it. but that will tack on extra money to the grow and I live on a very fixed budget. So instead I hold off and feed from behind. I stayed a little low until I started to see the tops twist just a bit. then I know it was time to feed. again I did the same untill red streaks in the stretching branches told me she needed more phosphorus and I added the Bloombastic. Now I do my best to not overfeed. For example I know that Maxibloom is NOT a perfect analog of the lucas formula. the N is a touch high and the K is a hair low. but it works! however the high N used to make adding extra calcium or amino acids difficult because they are both Nitrogen.Autos dig some Extra N during early flower!! so that was fixed!however I have also had problems with High K in solution during flower cause calcium lockouts. to make matters worse all my favorite additives are bursting with K! EVEN PH Up is Almost ALL K AHHHHHHH. But then I found chelators. humic/fulvic & amino acids, are my favorite so far. the amino acids work incredible it makes the water kinda viscous like soap. a little sudsy but like dish soap not bio suds.damn Im rambling and have lost where im at.:p im gonna post this smoke some then come back and try and finish my thought. It's kinda important for me to get this on paper. Iv been working on this feed schedule for over a year now. i'm getting close and want it on wrote down!!

Bhaha i think its awesome and i have a lot of respect for the science/theory's behind the lucas formula. But yeah being a synthetic guy (haha) i like using a lot of water i really avoid using pretty much everything ,no that's actually wrong because i do use everything just in really really small dose's i have thought about playing around with more stuff but id have to do it one at a time and really test if i think it works, like fulvates humates in Dwc i know work so id like to add those but as far as much else ie. vit ,etc etc id be really hesitant(to what degree? is it worth it? Dwc is a spectrum, so overall? ) but def worth me testing out for myself for sure.

first I would like to cover what I think is just plain bad info on autos that's out there.namely that they are notorious light feeders.while I have had some moderate feeders I have yet to see a light feeding auto! I often wonder how many people think they are burning their plants when in fact they are starving them. when a hungry auto hits flower they will go downhill fast. FAST often looking burnt! An auto goes through a lot of changes fast it needs proper nutrition to do it.
All measurements are from a @.05 meter and Maxibloom is a one part nutrient so I just add as much as needed to maintain PPM's
Week 1 230-250 ppm keep ph between 5.5-6.0 foliar feed amino acid and seaweed I have noted some autos don't like ph below 5.8 So generally I don't go below that anymore
Week 2 460-500 ppm keep ph between 5.8-6.0 foliar feed amino acid and seaweed
week 3 690-750 ppm keep ph between 5.8-6.0 foliar feed amino acid and seaweed
week 4 750-980 ppm foliar feed amino acid and seaweed.A lot of play in here. likely low 900's for the next week or two this is where I have to start watching for salt build up
week 5 same as week 4 everything depends on what the plant does, ppm 900+ last foliar feeding
WEEK 6 ppm 900+ Mini Flush every other addback.(Mini Flush is where I initiate a flood and poor the addback water directly to the control bucket as its flooding, thereby flooding with a dilute solution. Add 1 TBLs amino acids ,Aminos are better absorbed through the leaf but makes a wonderful chelator. They xcan make use of all but a couple of the L aminos through the roots as well so there is some extra benefit there.
1 TBLS humic blend I will be switching out to pure fulvic in the future due to solubility at PH. Fulvic is more soluble at lower ph while Humic is soluble @ above 6.0
1 TBSP Atami Bloombastic this stuff is potent youl want to skip a feeding or two.
Week 7 ppm 900+ add 1 tsp humic/fulvic 1 tsp bloombastic 1 tsp amino acid powder.
week 8 ppm 900+ add 1 tsp humic/fulvic 1 tsp bloombastic 1 tsp amino acid powder.
week 9 ppm 900+ or pure water add back plant dependent
week 10 on, pure water add back untill harvest

I don't have an actual schedule for adding back cal mag yet. I just add a little whenever I have added back a lot of plain water.and I dont use cal mag I use calcium nitrate and magnesium sulfate.im cheap

I was a hardcore lucas guy.The lucas strategy is more than a nutrient mix it is a philosophy. However after 10 years of using it I have come to the conclusion not all additives are snake oil. if you have everything decently dialed in no additive is going to double your yields. However you can do better! I have found you can get better resin coverage as well, so improvements can be made through the use of additives.it's all comes down to what you expect.it also comes down to money. Is the improvement worth the cost? I don't feel I get much in the way of weight from using additives but I am convinced the meds are more potent! and in the case of humics I think I get better flavor as well as a top notch chelator.

What I would like to do is get a photo grow going again and see if the differences in technique I have made note of are actually true or just a perception born from time away & bad memory I haven't grown out a photo plant in over 5 years.Thats gonna have to wait untill i get the new box set up sometime next year.Im broke as hell atm.
