New Grower Bandit's Cheesy Grow.....

Since I am heading to the Plant Store today, I figure I might as well get the rest of the lighting. So I think that I am going to be getting two Floralux 150 HPS fixtures.

Remember that I am currently growing three plants and plan on a max of four at any given time. Am I really better off going with the two 150 watters over a single 250 watt fixture? Also remember that I will continue using the T5 fixture plus the supplementation of the Maxspect LED.

So, I suspended the new dual 150s over the plants last night.
Is it ok to switch over the HPS lighting at this point?

So, I just went and checked on the ladies......

The purple cheese is has put on noticeable "bulk" in what seems overnight. Now for the part that scares me. Since switching to the HPS her leaves have stared to curl upward around the edges. What is causing this?

You probably have the lights too close. Put your hand, palm down, at the canopy top. Leave it for awhile. If the light feels too warm on the back of your hand, it's too hot for the plants.

I had the lights about a foot off the top of the plants. It was not too hot for the back of my hand, but I decided to raise them anyway. I also opened the growroom door and placed a 6" fan over the plants. This morning they do look a little better (regarding the curling). All three have shown a noticeable increase in "leaf-production". The only way I know how to word it, is bushy.

If have not not seen any pollen sacs, or male parts by now, is it safe to assume they are all indeed female?

They are what, about 20 days old now? If there are any males they usually show first but I've had the occasional late male, as late as 25 or so days.

Yeah they are right around the 20 day mark. I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

just read through your thread, its all looking good bro. a friend of mine has a little cheese going at the min, he must be on week 5 and its about 8 inches high..

looking forward to see how you progress with your cheeses especially the purple one, be good to hear a smoke report too, it was only 2 days ago my dealer had some uk cheese.. mmm mm mmmmm it was goood
