Here is a photo of the Purple Cheese Seedling.

I need to snap a few more pictures this evening, it seems like they really did a lot of growing last night (I'm not sure why).

So at this point, the babies are right at a week old. I will post more pictures so I can give everyone an idea of the entire grow.
How is the plant above looking so far?

When should I change over to HPS lighting?

Thanks for any help

Your seedling looks very good, just as it should for it's age.

Autos can be grown full cycle under HPS so you really could switch at any time. But since you've got the T5 for veg, I'd probably leave them under it till they finish vegging, around week 5-6.

I am pretty sure that the fixture that I am using is not sufficient for vegging these girls long term. I was just using this to get em' started, then I had planned on adding the two 150watt HPS at the appropriate time.
I just don't want to cook the little plants. Are they strong enough to handle (HID) already?

Thanks

Well two of the plants are just pushing right along. The third seedling (that sprouted late) is lagging behind but I dont think that it looks bad.

I will post a few updated photos this evening.

Any advice would be appreciated.

So, here are a few updates on the grow room. :)

I have decided to add a little bit of LED power to the mix. I have a Maxspect G2 110w LED lighting fixture that I am going to add to the lighting system. I figure a few more lumens can't hurt?

Here are the specs on the fixture

I am using the 110w version.

I am also getting the rest of my supplies this week, I will post a list shortly.

Here is a finalized list of the equipment that I will be using for this grow:

Grow Room Supply List

HTG Two Foot Two Bulb PL-55 TEK Lamp
Floralux 150w HPS MINI SYSTEM (4 inch flange)
Floralux 150w HPS MINI SysTEM (4 inch flange)
MaxPECT G2 110w LED Lighting Fixture
HTG 4” Inline Duct Fan
GrowBright 6” Two Speed Clip-On Fan
GrowBright 4” HV InLine Duct Fan
GrowBright 4” Tall Boy Carbon Filter
GrowBright Indoor-Outdoor Thermometer/Hygrometer
4” Flexible Ducting 25ft.
4” Duct Wye Fitting
4” Flange
4” Metal Worm Clamp

I think that for a 4x2x6 room this is a good start.

Two 150w HPS, Two 55w PL55 T5s, and 110 watts of LED over four plants, I hope this cuts it. ;)

Looks like you're off to a good start. Your seedlings are looking great.

Please be critical on me. I want to know what I am doing wrong, what I am doing right and how healthy my plants actually look. I can take it... ;)

The Little cheese seems to have deformed leaves with yellow striations, any ideas on why?

Also, I notice the green "algae" growing on the substrate, is this normal or due to moisture issues?

Thanks for all the help.

~bandit

It's pretty common for the first set or two of leaves to look a little odd. How often are you watering? I'm guessing too often, which would cause that growth on the soil surface.
