10 gal, with lid. It can be a light color, you can paint the outside black. I prefer the rectangular ones, this is exactly what I use. This and the 3 gallon bucket.

A large bucket like this to keep ph'd water overnight is good to have, and it serves as a light positioning tool!

No worries mate- its going good 4 ultimates will chopped in a couple weeks if there ready or not.
Im with witchy if you go dwc go big. I only went 15 litre (12 useable taking away net pot depth) and a my blue cheese just about drinks the whole res in 24 hours
