Sweet Seeds Back with a Sweet Nurse CBD and Ice Cool Grow

Thanks everyone for stopping by, happy 420 all!

Tag anytime you want! Lovely plants. What do you use to measure lux?

I use a cheap lux meter I bought from Amazon. HLG has a conversion to mmol on their website depending on which board you use. So I roughly use that but it’s more to collect data, still have to keep experimenting to see what difference there is on results.

Yes AFN has been pretty quite. Probably be a while before it picks up again. I think the upgrade disaster caused people to go elsewhere, they'll be back.!
They have gotten the bugs out, at least for me. It is running great. Heck some are coming back even. I am too lazy to go some place new.

I am subbed in. I just read your thread and let me tell you that I felt I had written this, As quoted from you

"My grows mostly produce well enough but I feel like I’m always combating deficiencies or slow/stunted growth. There is definitely room for improvement but I think I’m getting into a good rhythm for the seedling/early veg stage. I just need to work on the later veg-flowering as that’s really where things tend to go downhill with lockout or deficiencies."

Damn. My current grow I feel I nailed it in the first two weeks. Then I added fresh nute mix to 2-3" inches that I left in the rez. Kabam the ph when I checked it was 6.7 and 4 of them went into lockout. So I live your pain

Ya man, it's always a balancing act and a lot of trial and error. I feel a little better as long as I'm learning and making steps towards doing better. It takes a lot of time though, when an error on one grow can pretty much put the entire thing off track you don't have much room to screw up. Minor things just makes things look kinda bad, but can still pull off a good harvest.

pH is one of those things I've had issues with too. Mine was more around the proper pH for the Pro-mix HP. When I started I was testing pH with strips which didn't work great, then I had a cheap and unreliable meter. Once I did get a good pH meter I was able to accurately get in the range of 6-6.3. Unfortunately, I was still having problems with root and lockout issues. But then I found other people saying that 5.8-6 is more ideal for pro-mix and things started going much smoother. I think me lightening up on the nutes helped that as well. So it's all just a big experiment and I try to make small changes every grow to see what things change for better or worse.

Wow my friend...

Very nice work and great results, congrats ;)

I hope you enjoy your sweets :D

All the best and sweet smokes,

tommy

Much appreciated Tommy! I will definitely enjoy my sweets and there will be many more to come!

BTW, I mentioned it in the release thread, but the new Red Hot Cookies strain you have looks so cool. Can't wait to get my hands on some seeds!

Back with another update.

Day 32, upped the Megacrop again to 4g/gal and gave the first taste of Bud Explosion at 0.25g/gal. They are starting to need watering every second day, just though.
I also increased the wattage of the QB to max of 135w.

Day 34, another watering of 1.5L each with the SC/SK. Noticed a very slight lightening on tips of the Ice Cool, might be starting to burn. I will probably back down to 3.5g/gal MC while I start increasing Bud explosion.
The edges of some of the Sweet Nurse fans are curling up a bit more so I decided to back the QB back down to 120w, raised it up another couple inches (getting close to top of tent, maybe has another 2 inches I can raise before it’s at max), and added my bigger 6” fan for more air circulation. 2 PC fans just wasn’t cutting it as moisture was forming between overlapping fan leaves.

Overall coming along nicely but I was kinda hoping for a bit more stretch before flowering kicks into high gear.
Though this is the time where I usually see issues. Should I be staying the course, or doing some sort of flower switch over flush?

Looking good man, I would just keep up doing what you’re doing! Plants are looking happy and healthy. After the next week or so I would back off the MC slightly and start upping that Bud Explosion abit each week!

I got 3 plants going in Promix HP right now just too see if I like it or not, and so far so good! The plants are definitely abit smaller than ones I grow in coco at the same age, but then again 6’ monster plants aren’t always ideal either. Tag me in here occasionally so I can find my way back. My phone doesn’t let me sub to threads for whatever reason.

:pass::pass:

Cool, Thanks. My plan was to back down a bit on my next feed.

Will keep you in the loop, do you have your Pro-mix grows journaled somewhere?
