AutoSpoon by A4

Hey A4,

How's it going Brother. I am glad to see you are getting around to this. You growing a Dr. Grinspoon Auto should be a fantastic opportunity to work with One of the OG's (original gangster, not ocean grown).

Remember the Original Skunk? Not the skunk available today, it wasn't sweet, and it was a dead on ringer for skunk too. Now Skunk is something else.

It inspires me to work on some of my freezer dwellers. As you may know I have a few auto Crossess myself. Would that be the F-1? I got three I can do, All were crossed with Lowrider II's Cotton Candy, Jack The Ripper, and Love Child? Most are sativa Dom Hybrids. But the Cotton Candy was some of the stickiest I ever had, and the JTR are such pretty sugary frosty plants. I think I would go with one of those.

I don't have the space right now for thirty. But if I started now, do you think I could do it, with say, 10 plants? I could to this alongside your project, to guage my progress. But I won't hijack your thread (after this, lol), I would start my own.

I like projects, and smoke reports. My favorite things here at AFN.

Thanks A4, and best wishes in the Holidays for you and the Fam.

Hey Eek, sorry I just saw this comment when brother growbeast gave me a like. You are more than welcome to post along in here or create you own bro! Mi casa su casa mi amigo! Yes, mine and yours would be F1 and probably has a very very slim chance of auto'ing. The second generation should have a few that will and the third generation will have more. Most decent breeding practices will get pretty close to 100% auto by F4. So, it takes a little bit of space and a lot of patience because you have to grow them in veg long enough to see if you get any that auto, then cross a good male and female representative of what you are looking for. Each successive grow should give you more autos but the difficult part is getting the autos with the traits that you want. Just because it autos doesn't mean it is going to carry all of the dominant traits that you are looking for so it may take well in excess of F4 to get where you want to go. For me it is more about the journey as I enjoy the growing aspect of it.

Hopefully that helps a little with your question. I would love to follow along with you if you decide to do some, hit me up with the link! I happen to have some Cotton Candy that I autoed a while back, just haven't put much more effort into them since then. About to start though!

How is thiS project comming along A?

Hey growbeast, thanks for dropping in on me. I lost all of my plants a few months ago but still have my seed. I have been trying to get all of my mothers going again the past two months so I haven't devoted any time to breeding lately. I am guessing it will be April/May before I start growing these, best case scenario. As soon as I get some free time I will definitely revive this thread. For me, it is kind of one of those things where if I am not 120% devoted to the selection then I will never be happy with what I did.

I hear you bro, in that case im subbed. Eyes on fire hooked me up with a list that should get me started organically, i hope to have a organic tent up n running this summer, and eventually all my projects organic

I saw your dr Gs in your organic thread, you did a great job keeping them tamed. Maybe ill squeeze a dr gs in by the end of the year

Yeah, I think the phenos in the Grinspoon is varying a lot and I don't think many people run them so I had only 2 or 3 that hatched out of an entire pack. My guess is, that pack had probably set there for years. I never see anyone growing them, which was my entire reason for running them. The curiosity got the best of me, lol.

Sweet deal on the organics. It isn't as difficult as people make it out to be. If I am not mistaken those Grinspoon were grown with water only. Once you get a decent mix that you are comfortable with then you really don't have to do anything but add some rain water and watch them grow. Real simple. I have been mixing nutes for the grow I am on now and am kicking myself in the ass everyday because I didn't have soil mixed and ready to go. It is so much a PITA once you have grown organic to go back to chem. I am not against chem because I can see the benefits in it when you need meds quick, as was my case with my current grow. It is so much easier growing organic though and the quality is definitely better as for flavor and aroma. Not even close comparing to chem grows.

Okay Mr 4, or A4, if that IS your real name.

I will get my ship together, and set something up soon.

Now, how are ya getting along on this?

Oh and Thanks.
