I am very sad to hear that too. Unfortunately we have had reports form two other Battle competitors that they have had issues as well, but both were with different strains. At present we do not see this as a wider issue with any of the three strains listed on AFN but we will be keeping a very close eye on it. One of the three strains were slightly older stock (still less than 6 months) but the Dreamberry and Purple Stilton were both sent from fresh batches. We will start a random selection test internally on all three lines and i will keep you posted with the results.
If there is anything i can do to assist in the meantime please let me know.

Thanks for the quick reply and info Seb,

Nothing you can do at present, the battle is underway, I will just have the one surviving plant in it. I have no more room to add anything in my tent now as it will be full with other battle plants.

But, I still would like to grow another one or two of these in the future (for comparison and interest). Maybe if I am in round 2 Battles I can try again with them then (if that is acceptable to you).

I know this sounds silly but what is the exact method and temperature used for germination at ha @Autoseeds.com ? Could it be that theres a specific germination temp that your seeds are grown for?
Anyway, @Frogster everything is looking good as I said. Hopefully we have a great grow off and we can end up having prize winners and all have good contenders

Update

I am sad to report that 2 out of 3 Autoseeds "Purple Stilton" have failed to germinate.

I have no idea why that should be, as 8 seeds (various strains and seedbanks) planted at the same time, same soil, same tent, same conditions, etc, have all germed OK

All I can put it down to is a bad batch of seeds .

Disappointing, as this was one strain I really really wanted to work & try..

I still have 1 germed Purple Stilton seed that seems to be doing OK, will have to make do with that.

Bummer man...it's a great strain and has some killer phenos. One of them is like grapes with cheeses aftertaste. Brought this with me to a concert once and in ten minutes I had everyone around me toking her up. We smoked like 35 grams in blunts and sobs in about two hours. Three girls collapsed and couldn't even walk out of there. Strong ass weed!

Sometimes seeds just aren't good. It sucks, but that's the reality of working with cannabis. I had a whole batch of seven seeds not germ from Dutch Passion once,...turned out the distributor I used, had let them overheat in their storage area. They gave me replacement seeds of white widow, and the. Nine of them termed either. Needless to say, I never returned for a third go

It will vary slightly from seed to seed but on the whole anything between 20-25 degrees Centigrade is fine. It more often comes down to the shell thickness (especially with more pure sativa strains) and the PH of the moisture they are exposed to.

Hijacking the thread for one more second, I dont ph my water before I begin germination of my seeds. That hasn't been a problem with any others but maybe for me it has... @Frogster do you ph your water at all? Anyway, I'm done hijacking the thread now

No worries.... My Tap water comes out at 7.2, I add the minutest drop of "Roots Excelsior" and let it sit for a day before use at room temp around 24c. I don't normally have a problem germinating.

Update - Day 6

Just a quick update on my last surviving "Purple Stilton"

She seems to be adapting to her new pot & surroundings.

Temps and Rh all holding fine and where I want them at this stage, still hand watering at present.

Update - Day 11

The surviving "Purple Stilton" appears to be doing well.

There are a few spots on the lower leaf, due to my shaking hand when hand watering.

Feed is whatever is left in the soil, only been giving her water with a dash of "Roots Excelsior" & "Mammoth P"

The autopot Airdomes have been turned on. Tomorrow she will go onto the Reservoir and be fed/watered from the Autopot

Light cycle has been changed to 20/4

She is spreading nicely, but hasn't got a lot of height as yet, moved the Autocob she is basking under up to 30" above the plant.

Environment is holding well, Temp 26c, Rh65%, once the Autopots kick in I will reduce the Rh a tad, but for now she seems happy.

Update - Day 13

Yesterday evening, I switched the main "Grow Reservoir" on.

Hand watering.has been suspended. The Autoseeds "Purple Stilton" will now get all her requirements feed / water from the Autopot system.

The Reservoir was started with 20 Ltrs of 50% strength Ferro nutrients (A + B Grow, Crop, Roots & Enzyme Plus), with a dash of "Silicone", "Roots Excelsior" & "Mammoth P"

Phd at 5.8 with an EC of 1.6. All joints checked for leaks (all looks good) .

The 7 plants in the tent (sharing the tent with other strains) are now on the Res, and overnight they took 4 Ltrs between them. .

Light cycle will now remain at 20/4. .

All looking good at this point, She is starting to fill out.

Environment is on point as you can see from the "Pulse Monitoring Report" below.
