Lighting Autocob grow with big sm0 and mephisto.

I been saying I have a 4x4, which is what I thought but I just measured it because I thought your 4x4 looked bigger than mine and i really have a 32x32 so like almost a 3x3 and I'm still gonna throw 4 of your cobs and a mars 300 that's already in there. So I really can't wait to see my results now. I need to get this cash and order already!

Lol you will surely have enough light. This may be a good time to mention my experience and bit of spectrum knowledge. As you may have noticed they are phasing out the blue and red panels and a lot of companies are switching to white. White has plenty of red and blue already in it as well as other colors not present in blurple panels. Besides poor efficiency that's part of the reason you don't see any grows nearing 1gpw with these. Now grams per watt is in my eyes the best test. Sort of like saying anyone can grow a pound, well with 2000w of hps sure anyone can buy to do it with minimul wattage that's an accomplishment. Anyways most red and blue don't come close, while lots of cob grows are beating the 1gpw and going much higher. I just pulled 1.62 with cobs last run. Whooweee

The point of this is the red and blue lack some of the prime colors that are needed. But they are a fantastic supplement to cobs. As cobs have a much more even spectrum with less spikes these extra colors have shown to do wonderful things. How much I hate that solar system panel  I would say it will do much better for each other then alone.

I've come to the point, I don't care if they stretch or not. They get too tall I just break them....lol! Bend the branches to 90 degrees and tie them in place!
I did this last night. Luckily the autocob has a nice edge to attach a plant tie to hold it back up. Do you leave a creased stem?

Presuming supplementing full-spectrum COBs with the classic blue/red LEDs is optimal (covers all bases), what might be the better/best lights out there to pair with AutoCOBs? I have several Amare 150CR (150 watt draw; Cree LEDs), which seem among the best matches I can think of.

For those of us dreaming of (or acting upon) purchasing multiple units, at what point should we start including lights that run at a different K, using a different COB chip? What proportions of these other COBs do you recommend? For example, if there is an area of a tent in bloom with 5 AutoCOBs, should one of them a bloom-booster COB (6000 K range)?

I do custom cobs and have plenty of 6500k to offer if anyone is interested. @Koast_stoned just bought 18 cobs, I did 12 in 3500k and 6 in 4000k for his veg space.
My thought is if you use a 6500k it's not as beneficial in late flower making it only half as good from start to finish. That's one major issue the second is light blending. It's hard to do depending on your space at times. The reason for my 6500k is they are selling like hot cakes to the hps growers here locally. Most big grows add in metal halide into their hps rooms to boost resin production. They also do well in vegging plants but the thought of spending this type of money for half of a grow or a suplimebt to most isn't the most cost effective. Now if someone has 2 separate spaces I'd recommend increasing the cct/temp for the veg space. The 3500k that is the work horse does lack a very little in blue. It's enough and proven to be but a boost up to 4000k or 6500k wouldn't be a bad idea.

As for supplementing leds with cobs I couldn't think of a better brand than Amare to pair these cobs with. I regularly speak with victor from Amare. When I first mentioned going into sales this was my first comment. I am not necessarily looking to replace you but to supplement you and offer the flexibility that you panels may lack. I have seen numerous times where my plants under Amare could use a little less or more light. Spread is important too. If someone has a 5x5 an Amare light would be fine for most of it but adding in a few autocobs would complete the space. Or the smaller single led panels he offers to be surrounded by cobs would be an amazing setup.

Either way both work well. Paired they work best. As for cob color choices it's different for every space, budget and setup. I try to stay flexible and offer what people want.

Just dropped a bunch of new seeds. Thanks Mitch! ALxNC stallion special, NCH,2 Sour livers and I had to get a hubbabubba in there too. I guess I'll have to get another journal going. This is going to be a lot of work.

Growth is unreal! Health is unreal! Even the baby is catching up.

All from 220 watts in a 4x4. My confidence is rising daily as I try to hit this massive goal of 2 grams per watt.

These are now at 52 inches from the floor.

The baby is around 10 days behind the rest.
