yeah some are tougher then other's, I heard something and using sand-paper on them prior to trying get them to crack that suppose to help I haven't tried that only to remove stuck shells that really I didn't need to mess with, they would fallen off on their own in time...
Yea even I haven't ever used sand paper I got to good at cracking em open

when I say I messed with them, I only mean if shells were stuck i'd try wetting it down & tugging it off and sometimes it will take leaf with it or simply pull right out of where ya had it placed breaking roots. I never tried to crack the shell on my own or help the tail come out in any way other then tugging at it. but I guess that had do with a patience problem like i said in time the shell will fall off if its stuck, I never had issue where i needed to force a seed to crack to get it to germ, actually I was told to never do that, because there are tissue attached and that a viable seed will open on it's own without anyone's assistance. usually after 48hrs or so I'll know if seed viable or not.

I didn't find this batch of seeds having a hard shell, I got mine today and the shell don't feel thick or very hard to me..maybe you got a different batch am not sure, I guess after 24-48hrs we'll see. the timer already started. I started 6 beans today, i'm timing how many hours before tail, how long once goes into coco till 1st true leafs. Every aspect of this i'm keep track of, even if it's not being posted here.

The sac your talking about comes off back to front. After that sac is taken off the leaves that are white can spread and start to turn green. I started growing when I was young. So I was curious what was inside so I would rip seeds apart if they didn't crack. I lived in the country. So back then no net no cell phone . no nothing but imagination and bikes lol. So I got pretty good at it and figured out I could take a week off by cracking them ripping the sac off and getting get going.

Shioot bros.. ive had good results and also bad luck trying different methods of all sorts.. even standing one legged and throwing salt backwards over my shoulder worked 62.7% of the time... i can try a method thats will give great results till the time i try it and 80% fail, this was the case with the rapid rooters... and there have been times i help the shell out a little if it cracks or gets stuck.. one thing i have no choice over is the hard water( calcium) from the two taps that dont run thru the water softerner( a whole other bag of worms)... hey mangs.. all i can do is send you all good karma.. now send some back.. por favor....
