I got one..
where do you see the advancement of led going in the next 3-5 years?

I think LED technology will continue to get cheaper and more economical for growing plants especially on a large scale. I can see improvements in coverage are and performance. COB is a great new technology but still can waist a lot of energy in the green spectrum. A lot of research is being done by NASA and universities around the world on getting a more targeted spectrum for growing at lower wattage.

Energy efficiency will become more and more important and cannabis continues to be legalized across the US.

Nice job on delivery of my lamp. How far from the canopy 6 weeks into flowering,on some tropical sativa .I have to hang them at an angle due to height restrictions.Very nice initial impression tom.Peace.
We recommend the LED to be hung 18" from the plant canopy during flowering. Raise it if you notice any stress at all.

Hello @PlatinumLEDTom can I ask a question please. All I know is growing via hps lighting maybe t5,s/cfl for veg. I want to make the switch to led in one of my 1.2x1.2x2.0m grow zones. Can you recommend a good LED for this size grow area?

Great to see you also doing the live interview

All the best

Mark.

Excellent question and along the same lines as my next....Tom during the testing of your panels have the LED/chips shown any loss of efficiency and at what stages/hours,and is this covered by the warranty???

All LEDs have a certain amount of lumen/PAR depreciation. Some can in-fact be as much as 30% at 20K hours or more. We under-drive our 3w LED's which gives us more efficiency, less lumen/PAR depreciation and better output. The warranty is for any diodes that may stop working. You may have about 10-15% deprecation at around 30K hours, and the panel has a life of 50K hours plus.
is there an extended?

We don't have any extended warranty, just 5 years.

Howdy Tom,just wanted to no if it's alright to open the case to clean the fans when needed or will this void the warranty?

Opening the case does void the warranty. Should not need to open the unit to clean the fans. Just use compressed air and blow the unit out.

Pleasure to meet you Mark. Our p9-xml2 has a core coverage area of 4 ft x 4ft (roughly 1.2x1.2 meters). I would also recommend two p300 or p450s for added flexibility.

Tom,this recommended distance of 18"...with the different models/wattages,will all models provide the 1385 micro moles or the 963 par rating as the p450 or can other models be placed closer for the same efficiency?
