Auto topping thread, pushing the auto limits;)

Good day growers im a master photo and auto grower.but my passion is with autoflower seeds.i been on a mission for 5 years growing now trying diffrent methods of training on autos to see what they truly behold.truth is autos aint no diffrent to a normal plant other than they flower on there own.u can top lst supercrop and defol autos with monster results if done at the correct time.oviously every plant is diffrent so always use the seed info as a rough guide;) and a short plant can yield just as much as a tall plant;) in this thread i will show u all along the way of the true limits of autos and there true potential as i grow them for u all to see;).also if ur an auto grower who likes to push the limits,do speak up and all pics of ur autos and talk and all questions welcome on pushing the auto limits.here a few examples of the results achived topping an auto young followed by later lst.few heavy defols along the way ,gives u an army of dominant colas and a big heavy yield.and a beautiful plant.here is automazar topped and lstd;)

You need a jewelers loop (magnifying glass) to tell when to harvest..When 10-20% of trichomes start to turn Amber you're good to go...Far too many people are waiting for pistils to turn brown, which is a wrong indicator.
Cheers
I agree with Mr.Toad , Also take buds at diffrent % cloudy or amber to see wat u like I personally like about 75% cloudy bc I make live resin and I find the best flavors on average from most strains I've grown. They say the highest cannabinoids are 50% clear and 50% cloudy but that can be a racy high (happen to my buddy with one of his outdoors and couldn't smoke it as it caused 2 much anxiety) but Mr.toads advice is a good place to start I would also say that it can also be strain dependent.

And genetics of each plant. Maybe someday we'll have a meter that clips onto a stem that will tell us everything that's going on.

So happy to have found this thread early on!

Growing a Fastbuds West Coast OG a couple weeks from harvest... Couldn't be happier given my circumstances. Little deficiency issue I've been dealing with but we will be fine.

I am curious what others thoughts are on clipping offshoots and growing 8 or 10 main colas? I worry about light penetration as I don't have the tent space to spread these branches out as much as I could/should.

Anyhow here she is... Topped at the 3rd node and a ton of LST... Barely fits the 20x36 tent...

I am seeing quite a bit of amber in that last picture, you may be closer to harvest than you think. Do you have a jeweler's loupe?

When the trichome are nearly all cloudy the harvest window opens:

Some clear mostly all cloudy = a cerebral, racy high.

All cloudy with 20% amber = a balance mind/body high

All Cloudy with 40% amber = sleepy time/couch lock buzz

50% plus = over ripe.

Thanks.

I am going for 25% cloudy or more for the most part.

Some buds are definitely further along than others though, and overall I am seeing mostly cloudy with more clear than amber at this point.

Most of the amber is on leaves and definitely only at the very top of the buds.

I'm ready to flush any time though and Ill also ry the dark was voodoo this go. Lol

Figured I would update here... Having already smoked a bit and given a couple buds away here she is!

I'm thinking there is an easy 5 ounces there and there is another packed jar of larfy buds for hash. Nice dense buds for the most part. This was a bigger plant but you can't argue with those results given the limitations of my setup. 20x36 tent with a single QB 288(HLG135). Turns out around a gram a watt I believe... :)

Thanks to Autobeast and everyone here for the encouragement!

Now for the next one... I have a Malana Bomb Auto from Barney's Farm on the go, and I am considering trying to go for less colas but hopefully larger ones given the increased light penetration.

The question is how many of you prune lower branches? I've always been scared to stress them but been left with lots of wasted energy going towards underdeveloped buds beneath the
