Auto topping thread, pushing the auto limits;)

Good day growers im a master photo and auto grower.but my passion is with autoflower seeds.i been on a mission for 5 years growing now trying diffrent methods of training on autos to see what they truly behold.truth is autos aint no diffrent to a normal plant other than they flower on there own.u can top lst supercrop and defol autos with monster results if done at the correct time.oviously every plant is diffrent so always use the seed info as a rough guide;) and a short plant can yield just as much as a tall plant;) in this thread i will show u all along the way of the true limits of autos and there true potential as i grow them for u all to see;).also if ur an auto grower who likes to push the limits,do speak up and all pics of ur autos and talk and all questions welcome on pushing the auto limits.here a few examples of the results achived topping an auto young followed by later lst.few heavy defols along the way ,gives u an army of dominant colas and a big heavy yield.and a beautiful plant.here is automazar topped and lstd;)

I

do you think if I start to flush now she’ll be ready in a week?

Not even close!

Your going to have 3 to four weeks and possibly longer.

Not too many strains ready at less than 70 days and that's under ideal conditions.

If you aren't checking Trichomes I would be waiting until at least 80 percent of those pistils/hairs turn orange.

Don't rush it. The last couple weeks is where you often see some real weight pack on those flowers.

They should look more like this, see how the pistils have turned orange and the buds have plumped up:

25% - 50% of the weight will be put on from where you are now.

I think you are looking at 3 or 4 weeks to all cloudy + 20% amber.

When the trichome are all cloudy the harvest window opens:

Some clear mostly all cloudy = a cerebral, racy high.

All cloudy with 20% amber = a balance mind/body high

All Cloudy with 40% amber = sleepy time/couch lock buzz

50% plus = over ripe.

Get an inexpensive Jeweler's loupe to look at the trichomes.

I stunted my Auto Kush by not doing enough research and starting in solo cup. How do you know if Hermies?

There are many debates on what can cause a plant to Hermie but I have come to believe stressing the plant early in flower or just before can cause this. I've had light cycle issues and trauma to plants combined with questionable genetics that I believe caused my issues.

This is what I have come to understand but others may correct me of course.

There are two types to look for. Those that start producing pollen sacks which then explode spreading that pollen as seen below. Often this is claimed to be the result of poor genetics or the Hermie trait being carried from breeding techniques.

There are also some that produce what has benn called a nanner or banana which is a pollen producing stamen I believe and it grows out of the flowers. These are often said to be more trauma or stress related.

thanks a lot I think you’ve just saved me a lot of heartache because this plant was definitely about to come down on day 65 lol one more question would it be ok if I were to shove this in the corner of my 3x3 to get more light to my month old anvil or should I keep the the old girl the center of attention?

I was watching a "dude grows" interview with one of the bigger breeders. They touched on the herm issue a little bit. It's not a genetic trait. What is a genetic trait is the plant my be susceptable to stress that in turn could cause hermies.

I know I should’ve taken pics w light off but I think it needs defoliated? The inner bud sites(what I think to be bud sites) get no light and are lighter green

They both need the light?

I cannot tell anything from those pictures. Use 5000k white light for diagnostics and pictures of the whole plant from different angles as if I was there.

Ok so the bottom left was an experiment you could say it’s 3 day’s younger than the forge which makes it 59 days old I literally stripped it bare at week 6 and the bottom right is an anvil at 30 days I just wanna cram the big girl in the corner honestly

Stop!

You are doing more harm than good worrying like you are. Best to just let them do their thing as long as they look healthy, which they do.

Major defoliation seems to be a recipe for reduced yields or no difference in most of the research I have done and only serves to stress the plants.

The saying is LITFA... Leave it the fuck alone... ;)
