Auto topping thread, pushing the auto limits;)

Good day growers im a master photo and auto grower.but my passion is with autoflower seeds.i been on a mission for 5 years growing now trying diffrent methods of training on autos to see what they truly behold.truth is autos aint no diffrent to a normal plant other than they flower on there own.u can top lst supercrop and defol autos with monster results if done at the correct time.oviously every plant is diffrent so always use the seed info as a rough guide;) and a short plant can yield just as much as a tall plant;) in this thread i will show u all along the way of the true limits of autos and there true potential as i grow them for u all to see;).also if ur an auto grower who likes to push the limits,do speak up and all pics of ur autos and talk and all questions welcome on pushing the auto limits.here a few examples of the results achived topping an auto young followed by later lst.few heavy defols along the way ,gives u an army of dominant colas and a big heavy yield.and a beautiful plant.here is automazar topped and lstd;)

The defoliation is now done and was pretty successful, now I’m just curious on if I can cram the big girl in the corner so that more light can get to my other plants
Stop!

You are doing more harm than good worrying like you are. Best to just let them do their thing as long as they look healthy, which they do.

Major defoliation seems to be a recipe for reduced yields or no difference in most of the research I have done and only serves to stress the plants.

The saying is LITFA... Leave it the fuck alone... ;)

I cannot tell anything from those pictures. Use 5000k white light for diagnostics and pictures of the whole plant from different angles as if I was there.

Sorry I don’t have 5000k light. This is my first grow and I’m on a budget. Last pic is magnified top of the plant

Those plants do not need defoliation at this time. I defoliate very little for 2 reasons; first I am lazy and the plant mostly knows better than I do what it is doing. Second is the fan leaves are the plants energy factories I let them make energy for the plant. That said there are two good reasons to defoliate; 1. Air circulation it is very important for air to move throughout the plant. It prevents molds and mildews. 2. is to allow light to penetrate deeper into the plant. I run COBs that have great penetration and my walls are lined with Orca Grow Film so I do very little defo for light penetration reasons.

Remember this is my personal style in my space.

PS a "daylight" bulb is 5000K

Thanks for the tips. I think I’ll look for a COB light to assist my “purple” LED

She is NOT ready. None of the pistils have started to wither and turn brown. She could have another 3-4 weeks. Do you have some scope that you can look at her trichomes? This is truly the only way to tell. IF you HAVE to stop this grow then do what is needed. If you have the time then let her use that time to mature. That is what I would do.

Here is what I use. You want them cloudy with some amber trichomes.

Thanks a

thanks a lot I think you’ve just saved me a lot of heartache because this plant was definitely about to come down on day 65 lol one more question would it be ok if I were to shove this in the corner of my 3x3 to get more light to my month old anvil or should I keep the the old girl the center of attention?
keep her in the center. Flowers need the light.

A good number of folks I respect believe big fan leaves aren't needed in indoor grows as you have more control of amount of light and getting it to the interior of growth. I'm no scientist but am playin around a bit with both and no definite opinion yet(ask me again in 5 years

I will tell you one thing. Patience IS A Virtue.

You need a jewelers loop (magnifying glass) to tell when to harvest..When 10-20% of trichomes start to turn Amber you're good to go...Far too many people are waiting for pistils to turn brown, which is a wrong indicator.
Cheers
