Indoor Auto Seeds' Ultra Lemon Haze in a 23"x23"x41" cabinet

Although I had expected some high temperatures in the room where my cabinet is, I didn't expect it this early on in the year. Temperatures inside the cabinet were touching 86°-87° at 7AM this morning...:yoinks:
So I had to take some measures. I carried a mobile airco from the attic to my room and started cooling the cabinet down like this:

Airco right in front of the opened cabinet.

That got the temp down to 79-80°. Then I closed the cabinet door to a small crack to keep it stable (at least I hope it will stay stable this way, time will tell. I'll keep checking)

Then I had this bonus beauty interference pattern through the crack:

ULH currently is 4 days old, measures 1.3 inches in height and looks healthy. No watering yet. Maybe tomorrow I'll check the weight of the pot.

Stay tuned!

Outside temperature is 91.4° today...! It has been hovering around 90° for a few days now and the cabinet still gets too hot. But I must be doing something right, because the little girl is doing great. She hardly stretches but is forming leaves rapidly (probably to be able to cool down more) yesterday the width of the first true leaves measured 2.5" today it's 3.3". Tomorrow temperatures will drop and hopefully I can switch off the (expensive) airco the day after tomorrow.

Just a quick pic of the little lady on day 11.

I'm watering by weight. Yesterday she was at the lowest limit: 6 kilos. So it was time for 1.5 liter of plain water. PH was 6.6.

It's day 19 and I'm not really complaining! Temps have dropped quite a bit the past weeks. They will go up again today, but I've already taken some measures. Lights go off since the start of the third week for 9 hours during daytime and I have decided to let a fan continuously blow right through the branches.

At a certain point I was checking health and saw some strange spots. I felt it looked mostly like septoria. I didn't want to cut away entire leaves, because I still need as many as possible to catch the light, so I started cutting the spots off the leaves. I also decided I'd use a neem oil spray to hopefully get rid of whatever it was and prevent other stuff happening later on.

One thing is for sure! No more growing during summer! Temps and bugs and stuff...

Anyways...I accidentally hit a new shoot (start of the 5th node) while checking for anomalies and since she was already developing that fifth on day 14, I decided to give it a go and topped her on day 15. I read @autobeast and @budelee threads and figured I'd give it a shot.

Loads of Sativa in this one, had a good first couple of weeks, long flowering period, so, I thought: what the hell! A little stretching afterwards and there you go, day 19:

She took it very well, I think.

Now to get rid of the pests or bugs and up the feeding a but as we go along this ride towards the next milestone: pre-flowering.

It's about time for another update. Today she's five weeks old exactly.
IMG_9766.JPG

The pre-flowering stretch is underway. She's looking mighty fine! The canopy is very even. There's some great secondary shoots traveling towards the lamp and there's lots of space in the center.

I think I did very well. I also got rid of the spots, which might actually have been fungus gnats. The neemoil did its job, I guess.

It's only 23cm high now, but about 60cm wide. She's drinking 2 liters every other day and at the moment I'm adding 2ml of Canna Vega, 1ml Canna Rhizotonic and 1,5ml Canna Booster.

I see a lot of people growing on soil stating that the Ph of the water should always be between 6.3 and 6.5, but I'm of the opinion it's better to van the Ph of the water every watergift. Look at this diagram:
IMG_9770.JPG

As you can see, there's 4 elements that are in opposing ph ranges: Ca, Mg, Mn and Fe. If you always water with ph 6.3-6.5 you'll risk getting a Ca/Mg deficiency. I rotate ph at 6.3, 6.5 and 6.8 every watering. This works a charm. No deficiencies, guaranteed.

Anyway, al seems well except for this:

The main stem has split where I topped her. It's not a huge deal. She will survive. I'm about to tape it up, mainly for support, to prevent it splitting further under the weight it's gaining the coming weeks. I'm also planning to use the garden wire that's now in use to pull the branches outwards in reverse: I'll use it to support the branches using the holes in the Airpot.

Well that's it for now. Thanks for your support! Next update will be showing some real flowers, I hope.

On day 36 I decided to calculate the grow rate and compared it to the space I have left to the sweet spot of the lamp hanging at its highest.
I've read that the preflowering stretch with ULH can be quite something, and I felt it was necessary that I should prevent the buds to get too close to the lights, as in my previous growth. This resulted in fluffy buds.

The problem is, the little lady is quite wide as a result of the [HASHTAG]#LST[/HASHTAG]. There's no more space to pull the branches further outward. So I decided to tie her into a circle. Here we go!

This is what she looked like right before I started:
IMG_9784.JPG

I took some gardening wire, shaped them into hooks (both sides) and started hooking the branches on the outside of the plant to the holes of the pot, pulling the branches down and inwards, towards the rim of the pot. When the outer branches were done, I went inwards, trying to pull those branches down and outward, just like normal LST. In a few cases, there wasn't enough room to pull them anywhere, because of the many budsites on this beauty! So I ddecided to supercrop those, leaving a nice flat and even canopy. Here's the end result:

I am very excited and super proud that I did this! And today is two days later. This is what she now looks like:

Now I wait for the stretch to come to a halt and have my flowering nutes ready for that switch.

I love my hobby!

I should have updated before, but I got lazy. So here's a few posts.
Here's the lady on day 43.
IMG_9843.JPG

She's beautifully shaped and has plenty of buds.
No more spots at all, beautiful color. I started flowering nutes on day 43. She's getting two liters every other day with 2.5ml Canna Flores, 2.5ml Canna Booster Accelerator and 1ml Canna Rhizotonic per liter.
