Lighting Auto Seeds mig-29 X 5

Well, hey man. 80% germ rate is really good. Those seedlings look like they are loving life as well.

These seedlings really are having a good time, I like the one that looks like it is reaching for the light(second pic). The replacement seed for the one mig29 that failed has come up, Delicious seeds cheese candy (last pic). Yesterday the four migs got 1000ml each of 3ml/gal kangaroots at 6.7ph (soil was 6.4ph before). Still cold here so lights at 24/0 for another week. Humidity is getting low, 37-39%rh, if it continues to drop I will do something about it.

The seedlings responded well to the kangaroots but 1000ml didn't go deeply enough so this morning the 4 migs got 2000ml of 5ml/gal kangaroots at 6.6ph. The plants are still getting sprayed several times per day with 1/2cap/gal superthrive.

Day 11 for the migs and they got their first shot of N, 1500ml (1.5qts) of 4ml/gal cal/mag grow (4-0-0) at 6.7ph and a half cap of superthrive, soil was 6.5 before feeding. The problem child still has the twisted first leaves and is the smallest but is looking better. The show-off, third pic, is almost 3in tall with a 7in spread. Lights are at 28in (24/0), temps 78-80f, rh 36-39%. The cheese candy, last pic is 5 days old and will get its' first real watering Thursday.

Day 6 for the cheese candy, got the first real watering, 2.5qts of 5ml/gal kangaroots at 6.5ph. I hope I get the same good results as the migs seem to be giving.

Day 15 and all four migs are female, the girls seem to love life so far so in a day or so I will give them their first full FF nute feed. The cheese candy (third pic) is starting to pick up a bit and liked the kangaroots as much as the migs did. The weather sucks for now but will get warm enough by the end of this week for me to try and go to 20/4 light schedule. The migs are starting to even out in growth and my newest idea is that I am packing the soil too much before planting. Anyway this grow I will try and not worry so much about it, things seem to be going well otherwise.

Off to a great start ...

Off to a great start ...

Thanks Chester. I have both circulating fans going and the girls are drinking so each of the migs got 2000ml (2qts+) of 5ml grow big, 10ml big bloom and 10ml kangaroots at 6.4ph. The cheese candy got 1500ml (1.5qts+) of 4ml cal/mag grow and a half cap of superthrive at 6.6ph. Lights are still at 28in (24/0) and temps are steady at about 80f with 41%rh. I am being more agressive with my nutes so I will be looking for nute burn but hoping for a good spurt of growth over the next few weeks.

What 'soil' are you using ?

What 'soil' are you using ?

Pro-mix ultimate with nothing added. I live in a townhouse (rowhouse) type comunity and "earthy" smells need to be kept low and yard space is scarce. Super soils seem to produce the best results for worms like me, I have no experience with the wet world but it looks interesting. I am trying to keep it simple for my simple mind but this hobby is just too much fun. Now that I am retired I have more time but less money, so far my grows cost about $100 and reusing my "soil" would be a good way to reduce those costs.
