New Grower Auto Berry Feminized first auto indoor grow for an old gardner...

I am with you Rhyce. Point of clarification, on AFN we talk about Flush which is typically done when someone is having a major issue with pH or excess nutes in their medium during a grow and involves pouring a large quantity of water through the growing medium.

Cleanse is done by a lot of folks where they only give plain water to the plants during the last 2 or 3 weeks before harvest.

As a mostly organic soil grower I do stop giving nutes in the last couple of weeks before harvest.

Thanks for clearing up the nomenclature.

I guess then I am doing a brief cleanse in that I've not given nutrition since their last feeding and will only supply water as needed until all signs point towards chopping... I think of the method from beginning to end as a titration and tapering method, where tapering is done, as you said, in the last couple of weeks of the life cycle.

Chica's turn for examination...

It's Chica's turn for a trichome exam. Boy, she's got a bit to go yet by my examination. Still pumpin' out fluffy flowers and making big bud clusters. Stankin' too! Intoxicating aroma. So here's Chica my one and only Mango and a performer to the end it appears...

Getting ready for the CHOP! RS :smokeit:

First plant to get the chop!

Dropsy, the Auto Berry that I dropped early in life, who limped along compared to her sisters... got the chop today. For being the runt, she did well in the flower department.

I had scoped her trich's and amber'ing was beginning on the main cola so I decided to take her earlier than her sisters. She'd gone into flower first, looked like she'd exhausted most of her flower growth and was showing a lot of orange pistils...

I was happy with what I saw after getting her ready to hang (4 days at 30% RH). Took a couple of samples, pressed them at 230 in the curling iron to release most of the water vapor and kind of vaped it.

Mind you, in the last two months I've purchased and smoked, King Louis, White LSD, Blue Dream, Girl Scout Cookies and Jack Herrer. All were very good. When I vape/smoked the heat pressed buds (4 popcorns) me and two other people were whacked out of our gourds and it was not just a 'new weed' high. This was definately a cut above anything I've smoked recently. We all felt like we were wearing headbands, my guests had to wait to leave and drive...

I am blown away with the fruits of my labor thus far and feel that I've proven to myself that carefully nurtured connoisseur strains will most certainly be a cut above the commercially available strains...

It's been quite a learning curve and a LOT of work but so worth the effort...

The rest will get the chop later in the week when their it seems like they're ready.

Happily stoned, RS :smokeit:

I'm glad I chopped Dropsy the runt auto berry last night. Smoked some more heat pressed (curling iron @ 230) popcorn buds as a WAB... The shit was ready and I'm foned as a start...

This is good for now... A little early'ish in the amber'ing phase... The rest can wait a little longer... Looking for perfect ripeness with the rest.

Just did another wake and bake with a semi-cured budlet. This stuff is very strong indeed. I held a hit and started blacking out seeing colors and now I'm kind of tripping.

I had some Jack Herrer that was almost as strong but this is a very strong indica high which is excellent for pain (sprained my back)... Wow. RS

Chica got the chop tonight...

My first garden of auto-flowers (Berry and Mango) are hitting maturity as each one starts showing amber trich's I'm chopping. Chica was further along on the amber'ing than Dropsy was so I didn't want to wait a moment further. Ripe to perfection I believe...

I experimented with her and took off a lot of the bottom 'first' leaves and bent her like a candleabra. Check out her bottom in the video... Wicked bushy. I'll experiment like this again. All that stuff about saving the old leaves... I don't buy it. The plant obviously didn't give a shit that I'd messed with her... In her case, I feel that my messing definitely maximized my yeild. Just sayin'...

Young Chica...

Smoking Mango and Berry bud

So, I've chopped 1 Auto Berry and 1 Mango Auto thus far and now have tried both buds. The Mango is on par with most strains I get commercially, strong but not super strong. The bud is just beginning to cure but already smells sweet and the aroma is intoxicating. Smoke's smooth. A good strong and extremely, almost drooling'ly delicious, daytime smoke.

The Auto Berry is still killer compared to the Mango. My chronic pain med patient is going mad over the Berry and I am too.

I've four more Berry's left to chop and 1 Berry/Sativa mutant that has leaves that look like Lambs Ears...

Baked off my ass..., RS :Sharing One:

Madge gets the chop... Nice yield...

I chopped another Auto Berry tonight, Madge... She was the not so beautiful sister to the bombshell, Ella who has a few more days till finishing with leaves still brilliant teal blue and ever developing buds/colas, of which she has many.

Anyway (I'm stoned) back to Madge, she was a good 25% amber at selected locations when viewed under my scope (forgot to take a screen shot)... So she was the second of five berry's to get the chop. The yield on Madge was surprising. She had some nice chubby colas. I've got a good feeling that I'll have over an ounce and half dry/cured. Hanging now for a few days.

Nice Bowl of Mango Buds!

This is a bowl full of Mango Auto buds... Somewhere above an oz... Feast your eyes on this! The smoke is awesome, smooth, sweet, fruity and a pleasant (not too trippy or spacey) high... Not as kick-ass as the Berry weed I'm smoking but real good.
