Dutch Passion are we there yet? think different at day 60 with led and dwc.

gbd how many lights is in there .....i wanna grow led for my next run but they seem to be a bit high since ive already invested in some T5 lighting ......found a good 400 hps with both bulbs for 250....but the led is kooler i think ......can u run florescent with led cause i can get a nice led for around 40 on ebay ....Opinions

i've got 4 LEDs currently, and they can be run with florescent. i'm new to the LED/grow game, but i'd still have to suggest saving up for a reputable LED like blackstar or hydrogrow. you'll get your moneys worth, save on frustration, and have the peace of mind of people proving that they work! like i said, this is my first grow so and the only set up i've ever used, the new growers section of this forum would probably offer better guidance. good luck sir!

the penetrators are 1w models. i keep hearing that the chrome has a crazy PAR output, but i never get any actual information about it, even from gotham hydro. all the chinese manufacturers (even igrowleduk) that make modular leds state that their par is around 552.4 at 12", which is way less than the hydrogrows. i know the hydrogrow and og blackstar are tried and true, so i'm using them on the big one. maybe i will still switch them.

hmmm..

Here is a vid showing PAR output vs xlens light. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FRLt0n5zsQE

thank you for stopping in!!

she does appear to still be growing up and outward, and i'm in it for the long haul. can't wait to see what she puts out. my current res is as follows:
rhizo- 30ml
silica- 20ml
cal/mg- 20ml
carbo load- 16ml
superior potash- 12ml
vega 'a' + 'b' - 20ml/each

total EC/PPM of 752 and i've been doing my best to keep ph between 5.8-6.0. not sure if the ratios are right, or if i would benefit from rearranging them.

i got the hydrogrows, TDs, and buckets all after watching you. you really should be reimbursed by the companies for your excellent advertising.

:peace:

i would of switched her over to bloom feed already and would not be using superior potash untill she has stopped stretching, the extra nitrogen in the vega will make the plant expand loads, i tend to switch them early depending on if they are indica or sativa, i know "think different" is sativa so having the extra nitrogen could be whats causing her to take longer, while she has it available she will use it

if space isnt an issue and your not bothered about how long she is gonna take to finish then keep her on veg, you can normaly tell when she is ready for bloom feed because her ph will start to drop, this is a sign that she is making the transtion from pre-flower to floral formation

its just my advice and you have done well so far without lol

cheers

whooops, typo! it is on flores! goddamn spanish throws me everytime! (not really, just a stupid oversight) i switched from vega to flores around day 40..

'just my advice, done well so far without it..'

LOLZ! i wouldn't be here if it wasn't for your awesome displays and write ups. my grow has been modeled after yours, so although you hadn't given me advice directly you've done it through your work.

you're time is appreciated my friend.

there are good deals on used blackstar's, as well as other brands, available for decent prices on eBay. one of the 4 spot chrome models sold for about $145 a week ago. just gotta keep your eyes open. hps is definitely a viable option too, i just don't know much about them. besides, i dig the different hues of reds and blues in a big, big way.

dont worry about the penertartor lights not being up to the job mate, i used a 1 watt penetrtaor when i grew my td and ive also seen the buds just 1 panel can produce on its own so you shoulr be stellar ,it sounds like she is coming to the end of her pre-flower stretch and my top advice would be this

ppm/ec drops and ph rises = incrsease her feed
ppm/ec increases and ph drops = less feed
ppm/ec stable and ph stable = sweet spot

by reading what her ec is doing she is telling you if she wants more or less feed or wether she is happy with her current ppm/ec

as for the pk 13/14 you can use it in so many ways, 1 of my favourites is to start off with a small amount each week and then keep increasing till she is at full dosage, this takes practice and you need to calculate her flowering period to do this sucssefully , some people like to hit their plants when the flowers are taking shape and others like to hit them when the go into the weight gain stage, also another 1 of my favs is to split the doasge over a 2 week period

if the total dosage is 24ml which it is in a 20ltr bucket then you can give her 2 doses of 12ml over a 2 week period

their is no right or wrong time to use it its just grower specific, when you decide to use pk13/14 drop the superior potash from the feed, just a little something for you to consider pal and the stage is yours

seymour,

believe me, after seeing what you managed with the 1 watters i know they work! i kept reading your comments about the sweet spot mentioned throughout different threads and meant to ask about it! thanks for the explanation! when i saw your post about it in the starryder journal it was like you read my mind!

glad you mentioned to knock off the superior potash while using pk 13/14. i would've done some damage otherwise! i really can't express my appreciation and gratitude enough. since i'm so new to this whole thing and haven't quite got the plant's life cycle down i'll probably just split it over two weeks. seems to be a fairly safe way to go about it and gives me the greatest chance of getting it to them when they actually need it.

when i mix up a new res i usually make a bigger batch than is needed, and use the extra to top off the bucket over the next few days. should i just top off with water to get a more accurate read of how many ppm she's uptaking, instead of adding more nute solution?

seriously, i really can't thank you enough. your expertise is invaluable and you've cut years of troubleshooting, problems, and headaches off of my grow by showing how to do it the right way. you've made it possible for someone to jump right in and get results! the seymour buds scientific method works!

now write that book! with all the posts and knowledge you've dropped already i'd say you're about halfway done! just gather and organize them, add a couple chapters about different strains and your personal favs, equipment, tent set-up, etc.. maybe another forum member or two could even cover the traditional bulb lighting and soil techniques, maybe a brief touch on breeding.. i think you'd have an AFN best seller on your hands! with all the positive energy you've put out i'm sure there'd be people that are more than willing to help out.
