Hi guys, I've been researching root growth promoters and I'm confused by all the products out there and these two in particular. Any clarification would be helpful.
Thanks!

hey buddy thats not what sm-90 is for. as far as i know anyway.
it is a lot of things but never heard it being used as root boost.
its a wetting agent, wich means it help your plants uptake other nutrients. its got natural pest detterents in it and its also a bit like yakult, good bacteria in it to keep things healthy. most of us hydro growers use it just to keep the resevoir from growing algae etc. it might be a root boost aswell but ive never seen anyone mention about that and its a really common product so id imagine idve spotted it somewhere by now.
my reccomendation for any root booster though, or any other micro nutes would be to use the same brand as your base nutes if you can. at least that way you know its balanced to fit in with whatever else your using.

@EvilScotsman , I run a sterile DWC system so I don't want to use any nutrient/supplement soln with active bacteria in it. I looked at SM90's website page and it does not mention any active bacteria.
I use Rapidstart and I'm not impressed by results so far over 8 grows. I think I'll give it a try.

Omg you know when you get an eureka moment?

Just had one in regards to my hydro bacci.. hmmm

Basically..., My fish poo bacci is fighting with my mycorrhizae and trichoderma..

Fish poo bacci create No3 from ammonia and urea, not ideal form of N for budding, I have a feeling the recent excessive stretch I have had last few grows is because the fish poo bacci has continued to operate in my bio filter!

Probably makes no sense to you but your thread lead me to a solid theory vs just a hunch!

here mate your not wrong there. i had to check. ive been using that stuff for year thinking it had bacteria in it lol. didnt know it was a root enhancer iether. aww where did it all go wrong man haha. fuck it, it still works lol. ive only ever noticed a few folk do hydro without that or hydroguard and it usually ends up with masses of horrible gunk in the res. how do you manage to grow without it? im intreagued.
