OK here's the deal with auto's.How will a flowering auto respond to beeing transfered to 12/12 light?

OK here's the deal with auto's.
Auto's are on a time limited life cycle.
They germinate and then go through a 14-21 day veg (Approx).
They then Automatically go in to flower.
The more hours of light they receive in the flower stage the the better weight your final yield should be be as long as you keep all the other enviromental conditions at optimum levels.
More hours of light = more growth, Less hours of light = less growth.
Some people like to have a dark period to let their plants rest, I don't and I give them 24 hour of light but that is just part of how I grow my auto's.
Each to their own technique!
Photoperiod cannabis produces an enzyme which is destroyed by light, so if the plant is getting 18 hours of light for example, the enzyme can't build up to the levels needed to trigger flowering.
Once the the light cycle is switched to 12/12 the enzymes build up to a sufficient level to trigger the flowering response.
The advantage you have with photoperiods is you can keep photoperiods in veg for as long as you need to get them to a size you like.
So when you do decide to switch them to 12/12 they will have a good yield due to the extended veg period, as long as you enviromental conditions are optimal ie having enough light intensity, nutes, co2 for the leaves and oxygen for the roots etc.
An interesting note is - As a rule even if you go 12/12 from the start they won't flower for the first 14-21 days (dependent on strain 21 days is more usual).
It take this time for the plant to reach sexual maturity.
However if you grow a mother plant first, once it has reached sexual maturity, any cuttings taken can be put into 12/12 once rooted and will start flowering.
This can be useful when growing Sativas in order to keep them a more manageable size in indoor set ups, other techniques such as train can also help.
The auto can only do so much growing in it's limited veg period but the bigger the pot the big it can grow in this limited period (This is also strain dependent, some strains will stay small)
seeing as the auto doesnt care how many hours of light it has in flower due to the lack of the photoperiod enzyme, grower like to ax the light period to allow for more hours of bud growth to maximize their crop!
If you have a room of photoperiods that have been switched to 12/12 the auto will continue growing/flowering but just expect it to yield less than a 18/6 grown auto.
However you'll have plenty of photoperiod weed to smoke , so no biggie!
You'll need to check with Rebel for the deets on that!Sorry lol thought you were working on shirts and mugs and shit.. was just wondering how that was going
And now I feel stupid because I don't know if that's 1 or 2 pm est...

Goooood Morning AFN!
Is there an experienced photo gardener awake?
I have a question.
