Another "stunted or normal" thread request

thanks. running 20/4 right now. perhaps i should shift to 24/0 now?
Don't do that. Plants and soil organisms need a night time. I would make both lights fit even if they have to hang at an angle or from the side.

Yeah if you are in living soil then yeah keep it where it is and jam both the lights in there lol.

I did an override last night to go 24/0, I'll shift back to the 20/4 this morning.

BTW I am in coco, not soil.

I also did the first cut @ manifolding the JillyBean photo yesterday, sure looks ugly until I wait a day or two before removing the lower foliage.

Oh if in coco I would def recommend at least 22/2 Imo the plants don’t actually “need” the dark period. But this is one of the most hotly debated topics on AFN. You will get half the folks sayin you need dark and the other half sayin you don’t. Both produce great buds. It is just my “bro science” opinion that In your situation I would run em 24/0 but that’s just me lol.

Thanks. Since I have one photo in the tent, would you maintain that same opinion? (24/0)

Is your photo in veg or flower. If veg yes. That’s what I always ran my photos on during veg. If it’s in flower you’ve got way different issues lol

It's only 29 days old as of today, so most certainly veg
Yeah man If it was my grow that’s what I would do is run 24/0. But again this is just what I would do. Lots of others would do something different. So basically man my advice is pick something and go with it for the whole grow. If you wanna switch it up then do it in the next run. That way you can see for yourself which lighting cycle and things suit you best.

Yes and I am on the other side of that fence and believe the best quality comes from an 18/6 The science agrees with the quality argument but yield is higher and it finishes a week sooner under 24/0. A week is nothing in the overall time frame and I already grow more than I need. So that leaves quality as the determining factor for me. Just because you are in coco does not mean you do not have a rhizosphere you do. The rhizosphere is the narrow region of soil or substrate that is directly influenced by root secretions and associated soil microorganisms known as the root microbiome.

Right now you are trying to intervene in a light deprived plant so 20/4 should be fine.

Yep two sides, same coin lol. I don’t see enough of a decrease I quality to justify the reduction in yield and speed, but as stated we have different goals. So both are right, and in this case I think we both agree on 20/4 for your current situation @ms48130
