Extraction Another solventless extract attempt ?!?

outside of the extraction.
looking back at the first pic of the olive oil and 11.5ph water mix.the oil is allready starting to bead up,rather than sitting as a layer ontop of the water as regular tap water below 7 ish ph.

regular tap water and olive oil mix shortly after a shake about

allready a layer forming after 2 mins.still an emmulsion of sorts of oil and water at the bottom.
im not expecting to see a cloudy white solution and a small ish layer of oil ontop like what budelee has in 12 ish hours time.
why is there a small layer on budelee jar, could it be like eth/iso there is a saturation point ? a smidge less oil and it would all have been white ?

:pighug:
Interesting!!! I might have added less oil to the kangen water at the initial experiment ..before i started i searched google for "emulsifying oil in water" ,there was a bunch of utube vids and links.. I figured whether it works or not i'd give it a try..one thing i can say is that when using eth is it more aggresive,to the point that the bud/flowers will become saturated and not float on the surface like it did in the water,I have the used material fast drying under a fan and will evaluate that by smoking and maybe a second run to see if i can push that material further.. Nothing to lose, everything for us to gain...

Hi again guys.. I have been doing some research/surfing and came across another experiment i'll try.. A solventless extract method to extract the trichs from the flower, similar to an eth extract, however, this will use only water..this differs from the GOB method i posted last year in that the water pH is at 11.5, and at that pH is said to "emusify" oil..i am not endorsing the water filter company, just posting their info, and we will find out if this is a viable option .. So heres how the process will be attempted and documented..View attachment 714762 View attachment 714759as a test to this theory.. I started with the olive oil and the 11.5 waterView attachment 714760added both to the small mason jar and as expected the oil separated from the water View attachment 714761after a bit of shaking, similar to an eth extract, this is the result.. The oil appears to have broken down to smaller molecules to some extent.. I will leave this sitting overnight and see if the oil pulls/pools back together... In the meantime i will prep some buds/flowers and get em in the freezer to freeze up the chlorophyll.. With the water being at a set 11.5 pH, it is advised to not refrigerate it,so it will be left at room temp... Anybody have any thoughts?? @pop22 @archie gemmill @Dudeski @AmberTrichome @HashMaster @Root @Eekman ..Hey if it works, good for us, if not,at least we know.... Update tomorrow....
Well, you need an emuslifyer.
Water will never mix with oil, what ever magic filter you procure. Water is a a strongly polar molecule and oils can only mix with non-polar/weaklt polar solvents.
What goes on in the Kangen system, I don't know. Where does that high pH come from? Remeber what happens to plants when pH is off? We are calibrated to pH 7.4. pH 11 is like drinking a drain cleaner....it may get a nutrients lockout.

Now I'll read the rest of the story.

Note that I never lived a place where tap water isn't clean, so for me, every filter is a waste. I don't want to offend people who need to filter their water for health reasons.

So after reading the thread, just post your thoughts.. I think that the results speak volumes, but i would have never tried it with regualr tap water, and thats not to say that regular tap water wouldnt work..

I am intrigued!
The Kangen machines are a bit pricey. Or can you make your own water I wonder.

Interested to see what you get out of your spent material too.

Thanks for doing this @budelee :worship:
I dont see why tap water couldnt be pH'd up even tho the kangen is a process.. Maybe distilled water would be a better option.. I welcome all input as i think this adds a great value to our forums..i intentionally left out all the "scientific" terminology, because its just water in my opinion, but the process has more scientific steps going on..

...depends how pure the water is % if its a solvent or water extraction,in the same way as bubble bag extraction is a water not solvent extraction. ...
Don't think of me as a grumpy ol' man but, well ok, I may be a grumpy ol' man but don't think of me as being anally retentive ...... "Well I'd have to say up the butt Bob."..... right.
So while I may be anal about running out the front door on a regular basis and yelling "Git offn' Me Lawn!" I really don't mean to be contentious but dagnabbit and doggoneit water is the original solvent.

I know I know, "sheesh OTD, give it a rest" I....... just..... can't...... hep meself! (-:
With that I will slowly back away from the keyboard and dissolve some sugar into the solvent of choice, water, and go fill the hummingbird feeders.

silly ol' fart (-;

Here is a screenie of how the water was treated to get to the 11.5 pHView attachment 715409

Wow..Interesting stuff @budelee ...:headbang:...and Infinitely Safer than using Solvents..

How did the PH 11 water cost compare to solvents..?

I wonder what our BS drink comes in at. Next time I make some I'll check the PH..little bit of BS may be all you need.

Hmm..BS is a good degreaser..and basically degreasing IS what you are doing isn't it..?
