Hello all,

Longtime lurker, first time grower and now poster. I leave on Saturday for a 5 day trip and I'm wondering your opinions on these ladies as they're fading rather fast. One is a Royal Gorilla and the other is a Seedsman White Widow, both auto obviously. These pictures are from day 84 or 86, which is today. I suck at seeing trichomes whether with a loupe or USB microscope but the best I can tell the RG is mostly cloudy, some still clear, maybe 20%, and no amber. The WW is about 50/50 cloudy to clear.

I'm more asking about the RG. I'm pretty sure I'll wait at least until I get back to chop the WW, unless you all strongly disagree. The RG I'm torn on though.

I am no expert brother, but they certainly look ripe for picking! I suck at the trich thing too. I think it's my color blindness!

You can pick em and let them dry while your away or go for major couch lock and wait the week. Either way, looks like you have some fine bud there. Just my Opinion, nice job!

Without seeing the trichs, I'm just another noob guessing away. However, I see quite a few white pistils still on the RG, so if it was mine, I would be inclined to leave it another five days. Unless of course you really want the racy high, in which case, a tougher call. If someone who knows more about this chimes in, you best listen to them rather than me.

One closing note though, not all strains amber the same. Some not much, so be careful waiting for lots of amber. Wanna guess how I found that out?

Regardless, you have some really pretty bud there. Congratulations on a fine grow. :pighug:

That was kind of my thinking initially as it just threw out another flush of pistils last week so I was planning to wait. However those new pistils are darkening much more rapidly than I expected and it really started getting its fade on over the weekend. This lady is sending mixed signals! I'm shocked. Lol

Thanks. I did a lot wrong and these three below paid the price with some light burn but so far I'm excited to try all of them. I picked my first from the above tent too early. The second I have drying. These two are next, and these 3 trees are looking to take 110+ days.

That sounds like some solid advice from @Olderfart!

I guess it all depends on the buzz you seek.

WW needs more time..... RG....perhaps take the cola and let rest of RG go til you get back.

Forgot to mention the staggered harvest option, I have used it a couple times. It can also spread out the trimming. Thanks for pointing it out.

This is what one I chopped today looks like. She's straight Sativa. If she was Indica I'd let her go a few more days.

Really interesting. I see what I think are quite a few clear trichs, but you also have maybe 10% or so nicely ambered. On my Mephisto strains last winter, the amber did not show up that early, and I doubt that I ever got much more than you have, even with close to 100% opaque.

Lots to learn for this noob when it comes to this detail. :thanks:

Me thinks some of the clearness may have something to do with the light. Looking at them under the overhead grow light with magnifying glass they look more cloudy. For the pic I was using a light off to the side. Could also be just this part of the plant or genetics. I've heard some strains never turn opaque. But I'm still learning as well
