Harvest advice for new grower?

Your question about amber and insomnia (for plants that actually have amber) - the more amber, the better it should be for insomnia. For me, it doesn't matter though. Even the raciest weed helps me sleep - I just have to wait a little longer.

so you said "for plants that actually have amber", does this mean some plants definitively do not develop amber trichomes at any point? Just asking because I seem to be a bit more sensitive. If I use a sativa leaning strain (talking cannabinoids not strain as is traditional) then I am unable to fall asleep for a good amount of time. That's why I'm trying to nail the harvest time.

No, I was taking my cue from another comment. I've only harvested five or six plants and I've always harvested them early. I'm determined to wait for the right time with a dragon cheese that should be ready in 10 days or so. But I'm going to wait this one out.

Short answer: It's been my understanding that everything turns amber eventually, though with some purple strains that's tricky.

I vote to let her ride another week and see where you are at. It's tough waiting this late but if you are sensitive, I would wait a bit more.

What are you using to check trichs?

I feel that I've harvested early the past couple times and like Rasterman, I'm determined to let these ride. Here are a couple pics of mine. Still another week or so.

Really nice photos of the trichs.

I’m in the same boat. Buds aren’t changing, trics have been cloudy for two weeks. I’m gonna wait it out. Mine is still drinking though. You should really post pictures if you want any real advice.

Using a 10-1000x digital microscope to check trichs. They look like someone filled the trichomes with milk.

If you look closely at them you can see that they're mostly cloudy with a little

Or like they're made out of quartz.
